Relient K: Pressing On Meaning
Pressing On Lyrics
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here.
Out of mind, out of state.
Trying to keep my head on straight.
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here.
There's only one thing left to do.
Drop all I...

It's a song of progressive sanctification in our relationship with God. Inspiration seems to derive from Philippians 3:12-16, where the author, Paul, writes of how he has understanding of the call on our lives, but has not yet reached the goal. He urges readers to join him, not looking back but "pressing on". I believe the lyrics were written in a form of contextualization in order to appeal to a greater audience, and in that sense they can apply to overcoming any life situation. However, I believe that it's root in scripture and application to a Christian life is undeniable.

This song is obviously about how even if times are bad that he can still press on and God will help him. They are a Christian band.
