Rihanna: Disturbia Meaning
Song Released: 2008
Disturbia Lyrics
Bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum
Bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum
Bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum
What's wrong with me?
Why do I feel like this?
I'm going crazy now
No more gas in the rig
Can't...
-
in the song Rihanna is basically letting us know that she is a part of the devil worshipping Illuminati thing and she is seemingly acting possessed by demons in this music video.
-
I think this song is about all the addictions in life that can possess you that come from the devil.
-
This is what happens when you allow yourself to remain reclusive and keep dark secrets. You become disturbed.
The longer you let your depression or fear of social interaction keep you away from people, the deeper you stray into your own head.
"Am I scaring you tonight?" - Because people are strange, when you're a stranger.
"Ain't used to what you like." - You have developed strange tastes by staying inside your own personal fantasy.

clearly about the illuminati, rihanna is a freemason and all the devel wants is to brain wash you by putting the real meaning in to their lyrics .... read them carefully
-
I've been listening to this song for almost 5-12 hours now, and I strongly believe that we are blinded by everything we see or hear, we don't ever try to find meaning to what someone tries to say.
Rihanna is sadly a Free mason, yes she's doing great and her music is going higher and higher everytimes, but this song straight talks about her still not getting used to the life she's assigned to have.
There's nothing related to 'Anorexia' as I saw on the first comment, yes Anorexia could do that but the song when it was sang, there was no way she talked about it. Satan is real, and I'am assuring you guys that, and she's describing all the side effects of accepting him in your lives, she even said it ' Better think twice, your train of thoughts will be altered so if you must falter be wise' she warns you, and tells you that ' if you are weak, there is no way you're going to make it, all you'll do is go insaine' That's why we see half of these artists depressed or addicted to sleeping pills, drugs, and all those kinds of bad things. The devil is a liar, and trust me he is here to Destroy. -
Itzel Lezti, u are spot on and what u wrote was perfectly written. i think it is about depression and the hold it can have over someone. i guess unless u have survived depression ppl wouldn't know what is in the head of a very depressed person. u feel insane and there is no escape from ur mind.
-
I think it's about addiction to drugs.
-
I don't believe its illuminati at all,she means a deep level of confusion or depression or a drug addiction whereby you the person who is depressed or influenced by the drugs is unable to easily get out of it though you know its bad.
-
i think her message is that everyone should just start going to church and Jesus saves.most definitely thats what it all means.
-
She is talking about satan calling her cos' she is a free mason!!
-
It sounds more like depression
-
its bout mind control people! this song clearly states the baphomat controlling her head
-

I believe "Disturbia" is about an eating disorder, specifically anorexia nervosa.
"No more gas in the rig/Can't even get it started"
Clearly, an anorexic person doesn't eat much. This obviously leads to a lack in energy and an inability to get themselves going much of the time. In addition, depression regularly accompanies anorexia, and this line could also apply to an emotional state.
"Nothing heard, nothing said/Can't even speak about it"
In many situations, talking about eating disorders is taboo. Often, the loved ones of victims will notice a disorder emerging but will not bring it up. An anorexic person usually keeps their disorder a complete secret and rarely tells anyone of it.
"Feels like I'm going insane"
Many anorexic people feel like there is another voice in their head that eggs them on and encourages them to refrain from eating. This may make them feel like they fit into the typical mold of an insane person.
"Watch out, you might just go under/Better think twice/Your train of thought will be altered"
When someone decides to stop eating, whether it is a conscious decision or not, they are sometimes sucked into anorexia. The way an anorexic person thinks is extremely different than that of a normal person; they are usually constantly preoccupied with thoughts of food, calories, exercise, and weight loss.
"It's like the darkness is the light"
People who are anorexic, in almost all cases, know that what they are doing is extremely harmful to their bodies and that they need to stop, but the disorder alters their thoughts to a point that they are willing to ignore this. Harm to their bodies, they think, is a necessary trade-off in order to achieve weight-loss.
"It can creep up inside you/And consume you/A disease of the mind/It can control you"
Most often, anorexia doesn't just hit. It develops slowly, and many times a person thinks they can stop themselves before it gets serious. By the time the disorder takes over their thoughts, it does "consume" them mentally, emotionally, and physically. Anorexia controls the person, rather than vice-versa, and the last two lines are self-explanatory.
"Release me from this curse I'm in/Trying to maintain/But I'm struggling"
An anorexic person often wants out of the disorder. It feels like a curse and a burden, not a friend. When someone tries to recover from the disease, trying to maintain or gain weight, they often struggle with it because of their inner voices that tell them not to eat.
I apologize for the length, but if you listen to the song carefully, you will notice that all of this evidence and more points to the song being about anorexia. Actually, I'm surprised that this explanation hasn't been made before! -
She's talking about insanity and when you go insane, "your mind is in disturbia". Whenever she mentions it she means insanity. "IT's a thief in the night to come and grab you"
