'Stare Into The Sun' documents the decline and fall of an urban neighborhood. It was inspired when Paul O'Neill saw raw CNN footage of the 1991 L.A. riots, which included a shot of a 70ish black man watching the carnage. This song explores what may have been going through his mind at the time. The lyrics consider his reflections on the building of his neighborhood and its sudden destruction at the hands of its own residents.
