Slipknot: I Am Hated Meaning
I Am Hated Lyrics
Two times the devil with all the significance
Dragged and raped for the love of a mob
I can't stay - because I can't be stopped
Eat motherfuckers alive who cross us
I know you're all...

About the individual that was torn in two and now feels ''hated'' with the misunderstanding for what ''he became'' to represent or stands for against this world that originally broke him apart, but also found his own identity and reality that's not liked now. Now believing and feeling this way gives him strength. Feeling hated empowers him 'cause he knows who he is now and doesn't care what people thinks of him. Like in these days now more than ever there are many people out there that became embedded in ''hate'' to be fueled out by not caring to be politically correct anymore. Who were tamed and confused for control with the good and the evil, the liberal and the conservative, the holy and the unholy, the democrat and the republican, etc., that are excercised all in democracy to the point that he [the individual] and them cannot function normally in this world anymore. Unless they're hated now, or feel hated by the other to hate if they choose to, but for him[the individual protagonist] doesn't give a fuckin 'shit no more about what the other one[s] say and feel towards him anymore when it comes to him being himself now that is hated for it.

i think this song is about being missunderstood and being judged negatively for it. its the human condition to pass judgement on others(just look at everybody on this site including me), but theres alot of ignorant pieces of shit out ther that never have anything good to say, most of these people r like this out of depression or jealousy stemming from the fact that they cant be like the ones they pass this negative judgement on. the solution is to be who u r and not who someone else is, if people hate u for it then FUCK them(wether they know u or not), if they r an acquaintance or less(enemy) then FUCK them because they dont really know u, if they r a friend then FUCK them because they obviously arent a friend at all. I have alot of different interests when it comes to music (excluding country and "pop" music) i listen to Metal, some techno, and rap and nothing i listen to is pussy shit, im kinda a gangsta maggot how many people out ther can say that(BE YOURSELF AND FUCK ANYONE WHO PASSES NEGATIVE JUDGEMENT ON U) as a matter of fact fuck the world, its a rat race and the scumbags r winning. u will always b looked as a wierdo or a creep for walking to the beat of ur own drum, how u deal with it is where ur virtue lays. deal with it like this band does, roll with the punches and then throw em bak ten fold. keep being yourselves MAGGOTS and fuck em all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I side with your review, and I'm a maggot because I love their style, not like retards who only listen to particular bands/singers because everyone around them does. I'd rather be fat and ugly than listen to Friday one more time, then I'd have my pride and half my original hearing.
-
Yeah I would say its people who judge and hate you because of something silly like you being fat and ugly (hence the line "i'm fat and ugly and proud so fuck you). And it's about saying not to give a shit about those people because all through the song Corey doesn't say anything that makes him seem bothered at all. He just yells "I AM HATED" as if it's not a particularly bad thing.

the last guy is right, it's about standing next to your music , not goin with what is popular,or what is considered bad, fuck the critigues

In this song, corey's basis is that he hates the people who jump from band to band, followers, teenyboppers, and they hate him. It's a tic for tac situation. He states that he will never become like them and try to become someone they are not, and that he is proud to be himself. Even if that means being fat, ugly, and not popular. He is proud even with all those things holding him back, and isn't going to let it hold him down and will fight it and become more popular as time goes on. He states that boybands and such are just 'dragged and raped for the love of a mob' which means that they will become the fans play-thing as long as they keep buying their records. They only care about the money and not about the image they give out to their young fans about society and self esteem. They let themselves get pushed around, but no, slipknot is showing them the exact opposite. They are showing themselves to stand their ground, to prove a point, to get a message across, to reach in to grab the souls of the festering society of todays world, and show them the true reality of their world.

You guys are absolutly right, but where the hell did they get those lyrics from?
-
It's about learning to accept and to love being hated, being different, being "bi-polar gods".
