Slipknot: Pulse of the Maggots Meaning
Pulse of the Maggots Lyrics
The test subjects run the experiments
And the bastards you know, is the hero you hate
But cohesing is posssible if we strive
Theres no reason, theres no lesson
No time like the present, telling you right...
-
I think this song is about bands selling out ''And the bastards you know, are the heros you hate''
,slipknot is only held together by the fans ''we are the pulse of the maggots'' they're about the fans and music they would never sell out the song has nothing to do with the government -
i think the song means whatever you want it to mean.they way you enterpret it is how you will see it and no amount of facts will sway your mind if your determined to believe what you will of it.
-
This song is a national anthem for all maggots. SLIPKNOT WILL NEVER DIE.
-
definitely about the band's unity. They truly are the pulse of the maggots. They are what keeps our hearts beating, or the pulses of the maggots. Interesting comparison, huh? =P
-
lyrics can be taken any way you want them to be taken.
ie. the song can be related to prejudice and discriminiation. "The disadvantage is i never new the plan." That excerpt can be taken as people that are narrow minded see certain other people as lower. Thus giving them a "disadvantage".The "Pulse of the Maggots", as in the title itself, can be taken as society's vigor to eliminate discrimination.
but the 1st guy's does sound gd -
He's talking about the future and what's yet to come.
"the truth shall set you free" -
This song was written in dedication to the fans, us "maggots" are what keeps slipknot alive and we are the "pulse" of in there veins that make them continue to strive make new songs and straight up kick fuckin ass
-
Let's see, my interpretation is this: this song is about the War in Iraq. How obvious is that? Enough with this "band breaking up" baloney, there are like, nine people in the band, plus a new album's coming out this year. They're not breaking up, not by a long shot.
Well, anyway, look here:
"We never had to fight in the first place/ we only had to spit back in their face"
We just had to fight back against the terrorists who caused 9/11, not all this Iraq business. But that's not all. This song was on one of the "Rock Against Bush" volumes. -
I was told that it's about the lead singer fighting with his conscience.

Oi, fuck you cameron, just becuase you r a fucking social tool and can't understand the way of the maggots, doesn't mean you have to go dissing our views, especially when you obviously don't know jack funking shit about us! Your obviously just an insecure tool, controlled by the media with no free thought and are just solidifying the fact by stereotryping us, well done man, all you'vr done with your comment uis make you self look even stupider than you already were. Whats wrong you don't get enough attention from your perfect lil "right" life and way of think you have to try and fuck off people with a clue? HA! TOOL! Have fun being a mindless drone, hope never to see you on this side, you couldn't handle the truth, so just go back to your little world of ignorance and have fun fucking your dog, much love!
-
I actually read the interpretation written by Corey himself and this song is about being loyal to the fans and letting them know that Slipknot will always be there for them.
stay (SIC) -
LOOK THIS IS A SITE FOR SONGS AND THERE MEANINGS, SO WILL YOU GUYS QUITE BEING LITTLE GIRLS AND STOP WITH THE FIGHTING!
-
I think like above that this song is for the fans and about how there music is anti-government. So this song isn't about anti-government but about there other songs which are saying that. And that doesn't matter what happens to the band as a whole the music is always there to give a second opinion on the government and that the Fans should stick together through thick and thin with or without the band because without the fans there would be no slipknot!
-
I pretty much agree that it must be for the fans. The first verse does sort of make it sound 'anti-establishment' [as someone above me said] but the line 'we fight so no one can fight us. we live, no one can stop us' sounds much more like a statement to the fans or 'maggots' that we're here and we're not going anywhere. we revolt so we can't be controlled. pretty rockin' song and it shows their devotion to the music that they would write a song for their loyal fans.
not a maggot personally. but I definitely have some respect for you guys and gals
