Sting: Seven Days Meaning
Song Released: 1993
Seven Days Lyrics
A kind of ultimatum note, she gave to me
She gave to me
When I thought the field had cleared
It seems another suit appeared to challenge me
Woe is me
Though I hate to make a choice
My options are decreasing...

It’s about a man battling with his conscience. He’s likes a girl but is afraid to approach her. He give’s himself seven days. He procrastinates. He thinks he’s a loser and she’ll never be interesting in him. He’s bookish and she’s too beautiful to be interested in him. He thinks he prefers the “brute” rather then someone who’s just smart. He turns to drinking instead of mustering the courage to approach her.
I like to think that he was wrong about her. Secretly she admires him. No one can read another’s mind. I hope that he deals with his confidence problem and eventually they get together.
