The Rolling Stones: Emotional Rescue Meaning
Song Released: 1980
Emotional Rescue Lyrics
Nothing I can do
To change your mind
I'm so in love with you
You're too deep in
You can't get out
You're just a poor girl in a rich man's house
Yeah, baby, I'm crying over you
Don't you know promises were...
-
Tongue in cheek song about emotionally unstable women with unrealistic expectations
-
Its about a woman who is in a physical relationship with a man but is NOT getting her emotional needs met and Mick wants to be their to emotionally rescue her and be her night n shining armour. Emotions equal Chemistry and without it any relationship is doomed NO matter how good or Hot n spicy the physical relationship is, so guys let ur walls down n be our emotional rescue Soulmates/lovers.
-
Jagger said the song was about "a girl who's in some sort of manhood problems", not that she was going crazy but she's "just a little bit screwed up and he wants to be the one to help her out".[2]

I've always interpreted this song to be about heroin and craving it/being addicted to it...his voice alternates between the high-pitched addict singing about heroin craving, to switching to the deeper pitch representing the drug talking to him symbolically about taking possession of the addict, under the guise of a rescuer...
-
About someone who is sarcastically wanting and pretending to be the right ''saviour'' for this lady cinderella type that became a pet trophy toy for this wealthy rich pervert type, where she may have wanted and needed to be saved from feeling or even becoming a sex slave that wasn't loved. Forwhich the help was offered constantly by the phony ''saviour'' that was crying crying to see her in that condition and wanted to come to her ''Emotional Rescue'' and save her for himself like a knight in shinning armor, but riding on a Arab Charger

An imaginary rescue that he was dreaming about in which he Is In love with this women to free her from a rich men house of slavery.

ahh yes 1980 and 81 the years that Mick was wearing ball squeezing underwear to hit those high Bee Gee's notes! Great tunes none the less :)

Brilliant song this one, about a guy who has a love for a woman who is being hurt by a guy who gives her broken promises. He notices her pain and instead of feeling jealous about her love for this other guy, he puts his heart out there and professes his feelings for her, offering to be "her knight in shining armour...and come to her emotional rescue"
