Song Released: 1971
Wild Horses Lyrics
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can’t let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses, couldn’t drag me away
I...

OK THIS IS JUST MY VIEW OF THE SONG TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT ITS ABOUT A FATHER AND DAUGHTER WHO LOVE EACH OTHER VERY MUCH.OK BUT THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING THEY SHARE AN ADDICTION TO HEROIN.THEY ONCE HAD A NORMAL FATHER DAUGHTER BOND,BUT IF YOU LISTEN TO THE SONG THE DAUGHTER INTRODUCES HIM TO HEROIN.AND THEN OTHER LINES (I WATCHED YOU SUFFER A DULL ACHING PAIN.BUT NOW YOU HAVE SHOWED ME THE SAME.OK AND WILD HORSES COULDNT DRAG THEM AWAY.THERE ADDICTION IS WITH WITH THEM FOR THE REST OF THERE SAD HORRIBLE LIFES AND THEY HAVE LOST ALL HOPE.(GRACELESS LADY(HEROIN) YOU NOW WHO I AM.I JUST CANT LET YOU SLIDE THREW MY HANDS.AND THEN THE MAIN VERSE.HEROIN WITHDRAWEL IS A DULL ACHING PAIN BELIEVE ME I KNOW AND THEY BOTH SHARE THE SAME PAIN.VERY SAD SONG.BUT THERE HAS BEEN OTHER MEAININGS ABOUT THE SONG......THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO ME! BYE.

It's about the little girl inside the woman. " the things that you wanted i bought them for you. Her family was poor and like everyone she's had her share of pain. Now she's a woman and she finally know's and likes who she is and wild horses couldn't drive her away from who she has become. "graceless lady you know who i am" now she's older and wants to have some fun and do some living before she dies.

I think this song has two people telling a story. The first two verses are the first person (husband?) acknowledging that his wife (partner?) has a terminal illness, and is watching her suffer the end of her life.
The last verse is the second person (wife) saying that that they've had a good life but her time is near, but she'll see him in the after-life to continue their journey. -
Does anyone of you know at least A LITTLE of the Rolling stones history????
Mick didn´t steal Marianne from Brian. Brian's girlfriend was Anita Pallenberg, and the one who stole her from Brian was Keith.
Keith said about that incident that Brian, Anita and himself were driving on the route going somewhere on vacation. They had a problem, Brian had to go for help and Keith and Anita stayed alone and, as Keith said "amazing things can happen in the back of a car".
Please, before writing, read a bit!! -
Any of you ever hear of Gram Parsons and his friendship with Keith Richards?
-
Keith Richards originally penned this tune, not Mick. Keith wrote it about his son, Marlon. He was leaving on tour and regretted leaving his son behind. Mick Jagger then rewrote the lyrics to fit his relationship with Marianne Faithful, which at the time was falling apart. It's been rumoured that "wild horses couldn't drag me away" was the first thing Marianne said to Mick after she woke up from a drug-induced coma.

This song is about a guy who is having trouble with his girl friend. But no matter how much she hurts him, he still will always love her. I have a similar situation with a girl I know and no no matter what she does, I want her to know that I will always love her. By far the stones best works!
