#1 top rated interpretation:The word "Starboy" is Jamaican slang for celebrity. The Weekend is boasting of his obscene wealth and lifestyle, including his love for the expensive cars, which he legitimately owns. It's like a violent truth that he feels the need to hit you with: he is motherf*cking rich and you are NOT, so THERE. He also kills himself in the video and destroys his own house so he is both boasting of his riches while simultaneously being violently disgusted by it. It is a song of boastful loathing.
-
He wrote and sang songs and came top of the charts but the record label made him look so famous and be so powerful that he was like the king of the world and everyone worshipped him but he didn't want all this fame and power and he was actually a nice guy who just enjoyed writing songs. He wants to stop being so famous and get close to God to show people that he's a nice guy who doesn't want all this power.
-
I feel that he wants to be a new person, hence destroying his past self. He is also rich and boasts about it but he also loathes his richness. He wants to play music his way not follow anyone.
-
He is raging against the establishment. The record label turned him into a "Starboy",(look what you've done) which is not what he wanted. He wants to play his music his way, so he symbolically murders his previous image. His art is his religion, so he uses a neon cross to destroy everything associated with what the record label made him become. He is choosing to be his more authentic self and not a sell out.

The Weeknd is trying to be a changed man, as he kills his old in the music video and destroys his home, he’s starting a new chapter in life, (Chapter VI) and he’s working on a new start to a new toad for happiness. And by a centerpiece he’s talking about his heart feels empty and he wants someone to fill that
-
He is in a time of his life where he has to leave his family and be around the world. In the song it says "Get me close to God", he is saying that he wants to get close to God, which means he wants to be Christian, The cross in the video also represents God. Now, when he says "House so empty need a centerpiece" he is meaning that he feels lonely and needs a centerpiece in him.

He is alive in the fall because of his album being dropped in fall. He makes as much money as you make in a year in a week. When his baby cleans up skinny pieces of ivory she is doing crack. He love his baby cuz she hood. He hard. He got a lot of cars. Also because of what we did "Look what you've done" We have made him a star because his fans. "I'm a mfnin starboy. So yea thts it
