Jumper Lyrics
You could cut ties with all the lies that you’ve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
The angry boy a bit too insane

I definitely have heard it's about a friend guitarist who followed that bad path.
To me though when he says "He's on the table and he's gone to code and I do not think anyone knows what the hell they're doing here" It sounds more to me like he's jumped and is in the hospital and is flat lining and (if I follow the homosexuality theme) either no one knows why they are sitting here watching him die because they are disgusted OR they never thought ALL this could happen so they are outta their minds confused why they are "here" watching something they didn't think could EVER happen. -

This song is about someone about trying to kill them self. He say as long as your alive it doesn't matter if I see you again. It could also be about someone being teased all their life and they now want to kill them self bc of it. In the long run it says kill yourself if you want it'll hurt me like hell but all I can't do its try to stop u, I can't make you listen to me...

If you watch the music video you will see that it's about a homosexual man that is struggling with his identity. Watch closely in the fight scene between the two males, at the end one of them kisses the other. Look at the lyrics with this interpretation and you will see it fits.

Wow. I always thought it was about a guy who was molested as a child and has been dealing with these secret demons his entire life. The meaning "jumper" is two-fold - the obvious of being suicidal and the more subtle definition of getting over his past.

I've been told that this song referred to one of the artists' friends who killed himself because of his homosexuality, but I can't verify it. Although, it is possible from the lyrics.

Ive looked through the lyrics the best I could, and this is my opinion: I'm not quite sure it was an enemy, because the talker says "my friend", but maybe friends that got into a fight. I don't think the jumper commit suicide, but I think he is about to because of someone close to him that died. I say this because of things in the song like, "icing over a secret pain" or "flashing light at a burial shroud"- maybe someone's death. When the song says "he's on the table and he's gone to code" that obviously means death, but I doubt it was the jumper's death. Because in the same verse, the talker starts saying you instead of he, then the talker says "maybe today, you can put the past away"- past being someone's death.
I'd love to hear more opinions. Thanks! -

This song doesn't have to be about someone's friend who's about to commit suicide, in fact it could be about stoping someone he doesn't like at all. We will use the term "Talker" to refer to the person talking and I will use the term "Jumper" to refer to the person who is about to commit suicide. The talker may be apart of the reason for the jumper to attempt suicide. The talker keeps saying "if you do not want to see me again I would understand" wich might suggest that the talker is sorry for pushing the jumper to an extreme; he "never thought it would come to this". The talker also says "everyone I know has got a reason to say put the past away," which can be interpreted as asking for forgiveness. If you can picture this scenerio as an enemy instead of a friend asking someone to get off of a ledge, then you may notice that there is some sort of a tension in the interlude of this song.

It's about a friend of (not too sure) former guitarist Kevin Cadogan. He grew up in a military family. His grandfather was in the military, his father too. He realized he was gay and couldn't face his family with the truth. I think he did commit suicide (I'm not 100% sure) and this song was written in tribute to him.
