Van Halen: Panama Meaning
Song Released: 1984
Panama Lyrics
Oh yeah
Aah ha aah
Jump back, what's that sound?
Here she comes full blast and top down
Hot shoe burnin' down the avenue
Model citizen, zero discipline
Don't you know she's coming home with me?
You'll lose her in the turn
I'll get...

This song can't be about you can't have it because it's got too much energy like after you get something you wanted for a long time. Usually that starts out as chicks and then cars. Who's going to tell you that you can't get a chick? The chick. Who's going to tell you that you can't get the car you wanted? Your wallet or some rich old geezer telling you to buzz off.
DLR admitted he wrote this song about fast cars because he got accused by a reporter of being empty headed and only writing songs only about chicks, partying, and fast cars. Except he realized he had never wrote a song about fast cars until now. -
You all are wrong. Also parcally right. I met Pete Angelis outside Cobol. I was 17 and Pete was VH's sound man. One time Dave's enemy turned into best friend then partners as the other half of the Picasso bros. Now, you'll have to ask one of them what's up. I have no dog in that fight or race. Big Eddie was their bodyguard. Wonder how he's doing. Anyway. I'm from Detroit. I mean DETROIT. Not the suburbs, Warren, St Clair Shores or any west side Detroit or it's suburbs. Farmington . East side. Davison / Mound. I did 4 hour's with Van Halen Dave era. Then 2 Dave solo tours. Trust me. Tycoons and a dancer named Madison does have lot's to do with it. After the fact. But no. It's really about setting your mind on something you're told no, you can't have it. From a girl to anything. Then like saying I'll bet you 5 bucks, watch this... I'll get her. Then making that you can't, or no, into your Bitch! Dave is a really smart guy. So smart, most people don't know what he means or what did he say? Lol. I used a family friends address to go to school at Lincoln. After problems at Osborn and Denby. I learned more from Dave then all schools put together, including pershing on 7 and Ryan. True story. Along with Madison who lives in Orange County CA. PS. She has my two son's..

Ease the seat back. So she can taste your shaft while driving down the road

When I was a little kid, I probably thought Van Halen’s song “Panama” was about the country or the canal. In fact I probably didn’t care what it meant, because at that age i just figured rock stars sang whatever they wanted whether it made sense or not. It wasn’t until I got a little older and understood the song’s lyrics, and VH’s word tricks a little better that I realized that “Panama’ wasn’t about Panama. It was just about your ma. lol

A good looking woman in a nice car picks him up is my interpretation.
-
No guys, It's about picking up a stripper and taking her home.
-
It's about drivin' in a badass car...Van Halen being Van Halen...lol. I agree with DangDog, though. :p
