City of Angels Lyrics

There was truth
There was consequence
Against you, a weak defense
Then there's me, I'm seventeen
Looking for a fight

All my life
I was never there
I'm just a ghost
Running scared
Here our dreams aren't made,
They're won.

Lost in...

Jared has stated that this is the most personal song he has ever written and when you know enough about his life you might see similarities.
(Remember, this is how I interpret it.)

    'There was truth,
    There was consequence against you
    A weak defense'

Might be a reference to his father since his parents are divorced (I do not know the reason but perhaps his dad cheated on his mother?)

    'All my life
    I was never there
    Just a ghost
    Running scared
    Here where dreams aren't made,
    They're won'

Might refer to when he went to Los Angeles with nothing but a backpack and 500 dollars, he did not feel truly alive before he came there, the last two lines might refer to Los Angeles as a city.

Basically, as can be seen in the titel, this song is about his journey to Los Angeles. In the video they also further explain together with others how much the city has ment to them, so in a way the song can be seen as a homage to the 'city of angels' Los Angeles
