Rolling in the Deep Lyrics

There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out of the dark

Finally, I can see you crystal clear.
Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your shit bare.
See how I leave, with every piece of you
Don't...

i think this song means a lot. yeah i agree with everyone saying the guy hurt her a lot. hens the he played it to the beat. but i think it means more of him being a player and hurt her a lot. when she says the scars of your love i believe she is saying that even though he hurt her so much she still misses him, because when she thinks about it all she believes he could have be the "one" for her. Also when she says you gonna wish you never met me. she is saying that hes going to realize he made a mistake but its gonna be to late.

I beleieve when she says "the scars of your love remind me of us, they keep me thinkin that we almost had it all,the scars of your love they leave me breathless, I can't help feeling...we almost had it all" she is talking about how everytime she thinks about him she remebers what they used to have and what they could have had. And the part of the song where the background singers say "you're gonna wish you, never had met me, tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep, I think she is sending him a waring that is telling him..."you played me but watch what I'm gonna do...you'll be the one in tears, not me."

I think when she says rolling in the deep she is talking about the intense love she felt for him and/or the intense anger she now feels for him. and when she says "played it to the beat" she is talking about how she gave her heart to him out of love, but all the while he played with her love. and in the video i think the person with the sword and dust all around is meant to represent the ashes or ruins of the love. as well as the revenge aspect because to kick up dust is to cause commotion or "not leaving without a fight". Lastly, the glasses represent the clarity she feels now that she sees him for what he is, as well a the shallow way she may have at first...just my interpretation.

Adele mentions Rolling in the Deep as a spin of the slang phrase 'Roll Deep'. This person had her back; would take care of her. She could depend on them in her time of need. They would come to her defense and not let her be wounded. Instead, they hurt her worse than a stranger.

I think that when adele says "we could have had all, rolling in the deep" means that they could have had all things and went even deeper with their love and also have what they want throughout their time together...

We're singing this in choir, which is how I heard of the song. I don't really know anything about the artist, and my interpretation could be wrong.

But as a former victim of domestic violence, I'd say this sounds like the 'aftermath' of an abusive relationship. When you're in love with someone who's controlling and abusive, your emotions and thoughts are manipulated by your abuser and you're sort of brainwashed. Once you're out, it takes a while to realize that this person you were in love with completely fucked you up intentionally, and once you get out of the initial grief you get really, really pissed off. At least if you're like me.

She uses phrases such as 'beating' and 'scars of your love', which sounds to me like a subtle reference to abuse. Besides, to have a song with this vengeful of a tone, I'd think a person would've had to go through something pretty awful, not just a regular break up.

It's not about love, it's about drugs.

After searching for Rolling in the Deep, the slang term "Rolling Deep" comes up as sleep. Considering her lyrics and the fact shes from GB, Rolling in the Deep is Simply DREAMING. (But if Simplicity is not your sort of thing, she is simply reliving(rolling) the life they could have had in the back of her mind(Dreaming) over and over again. That is what happens when you in love and imagine the what ifs)

It's like she expected too much like "they almost have it all" but it lack. The man didnt stand for her despite of offering her heart and soul. Twasnt enough he just played with it. Rolling in the deep as ive understand it, she still wants a payback, and when the he come back she'll play with his heart too to be even.

I think... the dancer in the "powder"...is representing the one she loved...who later became addicted to cocaine (drugs)....addicts will play on any heart ...to get their next "fix"...."We could have had it all......it was going great...til he became an addict. "The scars of your love"

The title "Rolling In the Deep" could have multiple meanings. 1 Either it means she's going to leave him a deep scar, thus rolling in the deep. 2 She could mean rolling in the deep as in deep water, as in a lot of tears. 3 Rolling in deep is a phrase to start trouble thus rolling in the deep. I lean more towards 1 and 2 and also in the song someone thought " turn my sorrow into treasured gold, pay me back in kind and reap just what you sow" meant she wants them dead... It doesn't. Turn my sorrow into treasured gold... Meaning turning her pain into a hit song to make MONEY, you pay me Back in kind and reap just what you sow meaning you get what you give. He treated her like shit so he'll get shit.

So it's obvious she’s finally realizing that the man she’s in Love with has been ‘stringing’ her along, possibly cheated on her or worse and she’s hurt, angry, pissed off...

'Played it to the beat.' He knew her heart and how she felt and he took advantage. Played her like a Stradivarius violin.

We could have had it all / rolling in the deep seems as though, at least in her mind that it could have been a one of a kind Love.

The final verses I believe mean that when he finally finds te kind of Love that she felt for him, she’s gonna ruin him with what she knows.
    Hell hath no fury…

we could have had it all rolling in the deep.

means we could have been in to a more serious level of relationship.... smth more deeper . there- were- rolling to the deep goes..... maybe marriage.....

but he destroyed it all falling out of love for her..... so she will get revenge !!!!!

I viewed it as her relationship with her agent and/or record company -- someone screwed her over creatively. Her music (her heart) was in their hands - and they played it...

So goes the creative breakup - just as dramatic as a romantic one. She warns them not to talk smak - cuz she's got shit to share herself.

Seems she realized they were simply using her to make money and didn't care about her talent, her vision, her dreams for anything other than profit.

Not that I am an artist who totally relates.
