AFI: Prelude 12/21 Meaning
Prelude 12/21 Lyrics
This is what I brought you, this you can keep. This is what I brought you may...
-
Prelude 12/21 was the first track off of the December Underground. I believe this song is similar to a dedication page in a book. However, this is his way of dedicated the December Underground album to one person.
"This is what I brought you this you can keep,"
This album/song is for you, it is for you to keep.
"This is what I brought you may forget me."
This is my farewell gift to help you with our departure.
"I promise to depart just promise one thing,"
I promise to let you go, just as long as you promise me...
"Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep."
To let me go as well, and let me have peace.
"This is what I brought you this you can keep,"
Again, this is a gift for you.
"This is what I brought you may forget me."
This gift is to help you get over our departure.
"I promise you my heart just promise to sing,"
You can have my love, Promise me you'll be happy.
"Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.
Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep."
Just let me go so I can have peace.
"This is what I thought, I thought you need me,"
I thought you needed me.
"This is what I thought so think me naïve,"
I guess what I thought was wrong.
"I promise you a heart you'd promise to keep,"
I gave you my love that you said you would keep.
"Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep."
Let me go, and leave me in peace. -
Many of his songs are about satan. He admitted it on the despair faction. They sing about satan to get the word out about him. And people will lul and gag over it because satan is supporting his career. If I understand correctly he was telling us about how their will be a conciousness change within the people at a givin time which is 6:6:6 the release date. And is song prelude well was a prelude to this.
We as the people make our choice to move forward or stay with the NWO under satan by participating in the lies and the media.
I care that he has changed his mind.
We are anonymous
Expect us
We do not forgive
We do not forget -
i think song has to do with a guy talking to a girl and the guy is basically saying goodbye and giving her his last loves

I believe this song to be a message to the fans from Davey.
"This is what I brought you, this you can keep." He must be referring to the albums EPs and singles.
'You may forget me." He means that we may forget him as an artist, but the music will stay with us forever.
'I promise you my heart just promise to sing." He means he put his heart and soul into the music, every last note and rest. Also, he wants us to keep singing along the music.
"This is what I thought, I thought you need me. This is what I thought so think me naive. I promised you a heart you promised to keep." I believe that he thought we needed him,and personally I do, his music changed my life. However, he might believe we do not, that we think he is naive. But, by listening to his music we promised to keep his heart in soul in our hearts, and so he promised his heart by delivering the music. "Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep." I do not exactly know what to say about this but, he might want us to say farewell when they finish music making. That when they finish we kiss them farewell. Thank you for reading, I am not sure whether I am correct, but this is what I believe.
