Alan Walker: Diamond Heart Meaning
Song Released: 2016
Diamond Heart Lyrics
I know that you'll be the death of me
Feel like the morning after ecstasy
I am drowning in an endless sea
Hello, old friend
Here's the misery that knows no end
So I'm doing everything I can
To make sure I never love...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:The person lost someone who she loves so she decides never to love again, never to think of that person(To make sure I never love again) But she is constantly reminded of the loved one (Here's the misery that know no end) Her heart is broken beyond cure, so she committed suicide. (Hello sweet grief I know you'll be the death of me)

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:It kinda feels like the opposite that I originally thought the song was about, I thought it was dealing with grief or the end of a relationship and doing so with a head held high, but Now I get the feeling that its about being out of a relationship, knowing it isn't good or positive, and the singer wants nothing more than the comfort of being with that person again, but they wish for strength and thick skin so that they could handle the pains of the relationship.
-
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:The singer is afraid of loving someone. She wants too and she would if she was not afraid of being hurt again. She cannot fully commit because she wants to protect herself.

I’m in the story and song
We are two old souls he waited fifty years for me and now has a freedom to come to me but he can’t commit he feels not good enough can’t give me ,,,I don’t want things stuff just those strong arms to hold me and to know I’m loved once more and with pure intent
Time won’t wait for any of us and being and doing the right thing can be distant ,,but it only takes a moment to see and I mean really see what is the best thing to do
I can’t go on like this and him breaking his heart because it’s unfulfilled with me not there next to him
Oh such is folly in our lives

I think this song is about someone who broke up with someone and her ex is saying something like please come back, I still love u, or yadadada. And her response is ( I would give you all my love, if I was unbreakable. ) Which means that she realized that her ex was very toxic, and unbreakable means that like if she wasn't stupid enough to go back.
-
This song is good I like most Alan Walker songs this one is about or at least I think it is about is about someone who cheated on here so she thinks if she had a diamond heart she couldn't get her heart broken.
-
I like this song but I don't know much about it.It is a nice song but I just don't know much about it I wish I did I might learn more about it over time
-
I have a feeling that the song means that she loves someone but they don’t love her back. Either way she won’t give up her love but she feels the pain that they don’t love her back. Such as in the line, “You could shoot me with a gun of gold” and also the line “Hello Old Friend, here's the misery that knows no end” that this isn’t her first time of being heartbroken.
-
"Feel like the morning after ecstasy" refers to depression that people feel after having the drug MDMA, which is also referred to as ecstasy. (I am drowning in an endless sea) means she is metaphorically drowning in a sea of sadness, which is caused by the end of a relationship she would love to get back to, if only she were tougher.
-
Its just a female that gave up everything to her loved one then suddenly when the female hit rock bottom the male broke up with her leaving a broken hearted woman that wanted her heart to feel nothing and be "unbreakable" like a diamond and move on like that but she still misses him
-
Grief is often amused to as being experienced as an endless sea. The vocalist has experienced a drastic and painful heartbreak which has shaken her to the very core of her being.
She has taken precautions and put up walls in order to spare her experiencing the cyclic grief she has gone through with multiple heartbreak.
The phrase referring to the place broken lovers go supports the claim she has experienced many heart wrenching romances while also wishing she had a stone heart devoid of emotions and love.
Diamonds are forged from coal under millions of tons of pressure and can be only cut or broken with lasers, yet the singer knows she incapable of surrendering herself to an existence devoid of feeling. She would offer the unconditional love she seeks if her heart was unbreakable like a diamond, weathering all the horrors which come with failed love.
The second verse is a goodbye to the one she loves, accepting the only way to emerge from the dark void of heartbreak is to leave the one she loves and save herself. She questions her actions, wondering if her decision will truly give her the peace she seeks. Letting go of love is also explained as being difficult as you have “built a future or a dream of a future” with the one you love.
The chorus is telling the love of her life she would face every manner of darkness and pain to be with them if she only had an unbreakable diamond heart -
A toxic relationship or an unrequited love, where she loved with all her heart ("good bye, my love, you are everything my dreams made up" or "my dream's made of"), while he kept being cold and hurting her ("shoot with a gun of gold, dagger, fire, wires, poison..."). So, she finally realizes she cannot go on and she's leaving with a broken heart ("So I'm doing everything I can, to make sure I never love again").
