Alan Walker: On My Way Meaning
Song Released: 2019
Featuring: Sabrina Carpenter, Farruko
On My Way Lyrics
Don't wanna talk, I need a moment before I go
It's nothing personal
I draw the blinds
They don't need to see me cry
'Cause even if they understand
They don't understand
So then when I'm finished
I'm all 'bout my business and...

#1 top rated interpretation:It could be about a female who has trust issues with other people. As all the other people have said or done stuff to make her feel different or outcasted, and so she's retreated into herself and put walls up to keep it from happening again. Therefore the line "I draw the blinds" means she's put up walls, and the next line "they don't need to see me cry" kinda is like sure they've hurt my feelings and stuff but I don't need to give them the satisfaction of seeing those words work.
In the chorus there's the lines "So take aim and fire away, i've never been so wide awake" means she's ready for whatever society says to her that's why the next lines are "no, nobody but me can keep me safe, I'm on my way" because she can't trust anyone but herself and is leaving the society where they make her feel different. -

#2 top rated interpretation:i think it's about a girl who is hurt by things done or said by other people, maybe had lost a friend, and she decides to changes and vows to not be hurt by what people say and go ON HER WAY, because other people cant "keep her safe" which i am sure is a metaphor.
this is based on sabrina carpenter's part. cause it's english. -
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:This song maybe is about a girl who is about to die of some disease she despair.
(1) The part "i need a moment before i go" means she's recalling every sweet and suffered memory she remember.
(2) While"Its nothing personal" could be mean that death will not choose anybody it likes, it just take and take every soul on earth.Everyone will die and thats why she insist that death is nothing personal.Everybody will meet death.
(3) Lastly, the sentence: So then when I'm finished bla bla Save the World bla bla means she's ready to reunited with her loved one in the nextlife and saving her world from this painful reality. -
Walker did collab with pubg to have this song as their anniversary event in game theme soundtrack, so feel it's about a shy female introverted character, or as many said with trust issues, indicated in the beginning of the lyrics but in the 2nd verse and refrain she suddenly seems very confident, meaning likely she's found her groove, she's a very talented gamer, in spite of her social issues, she absolute dominates in pubg.

Lots of good interpretations on this... I don't regularly listen to music but happened across a cover version of the song on YouTube and see a very tracendant beauty to it. While I concur with many of the feelings posted, I have an alternative interpretation as well.
First I don't feel that just because Ms.Carpenter is singing the song it necessarily means it is the life of a woman. In our modern society I feel we should transcend the gender selection made by many of the commentaries.
Next I view the phrase, "Im all about my business and ready to save the world" as an indication that the individual is a modern warrior whether armed forces, police, or something else. As a Marine I can say that preparing for combat is very emotionally draining and absolutely "miserable". The phrase,"they understand, but they don't really understand" is about the people this warrior is protecting because while they're appreciative of the warriors' circumstances they truly can't conceive of what the warrior has experienced. ...and of course no warrior wants anyone to see them cry.
Furthermore, in the chorus "no body but me can keep me safe" I believe is a reference to the warriors' advanced skill set to protect preserve and defend.
In conclusion I feel as an alternative interpretation that 'On My Way' is a dedication to those who keep society safe. -
My understanding is this-
1. Subway did not give me a poopchip cookie, shame on them!
If you don't know what a poopchip cookie is, let me explain
1. Making of the poop chips
First they make someone poop in a potty and take 2 scoops of cows poop and mix them together. You need fresh poop if you want good poopchips. Then take the mixed poop and add a few drops of pee and taste it. If it is sweet, add some of your boogers, if it is spicy or bitter, puke in the mixture. Then roll it nicely. Then shape them into chocolate chip shapes. Then cover them with iced pee and freeze them for 20 hours.
2.Making of the cookies
Make some cookie dough batter and add 99999999 poopchips. Then add 2 gallons of pee in the batter.
Scoop them into circles and bake for 5 minutes.
That's how you make them.
2. Subway is a moron -
I think it is bout a person with quiet borderline personality disorder.Lyrics match the symptoms.Seriously,it does.Go check. That was the first impression it had on me

On my side,i just think that the girl loved boy before meeting the one on set and so she was really afraid on falling in love agwith any other person into whole world.

I think this song is about a girl who wants to prove an experiment. She knowns the magic of science very well. But her teacher and other friends laughed at her and could not believe in her experiment. She later proved herself right and paused their mouths...
Believe in yourself!! -
According to me, most probably it's about a girl who believes in things that people say are just imaginary or in fantasy. But she is sure they exist. Whenever she tells people about her feelings, people start laughing at her and ignore her. Also, the line "no, nobody but me can keep me safe and I'm on my way" means that now she could feel the "fire burning in her eyes" and she wants to prove herself correct. So, no one, but she herself, could save her from people's bullies and insults by proving that she was correct. The case is somewhere related to Luna Lovegood [a harry potter character] who, too, believed in things like nargles which people thought were imaginary and she was often bullied for that and was left alone. But still, she kept faith in herself and grew up to become a magizoologist. She proved herself.
-
I think this song is brilliant at many levels. My interpretation of the lyrics is that the girl (she) has been abused and miatreated by the boyfriend (him) and is now ready to take a stand and break up with him. She jas come to the realisation that only her can save herself and nobody would really understand her reasons to still be with him even if they understand that she loves him. On his side, he excuses himself admitting that he has made mistakes but "he is human" but he made it because he loved her. That is a classic excuse of a man who abuses his wife/girlfriend. At the end he also says goodbye so he can move further. Love the song. Again, Alan Walker makes magic with a beautiful female voice.

I think this song is about a girl who is tired of being overshadowed and some people don't like the girl she just wants to run away from everything and she is the only one who could keep herself save
-
i think that its about someone who is deppersed but dosnt show it and is looking for something.... but of chourse theres they might have trust problems and is getting bullyed ¨cant be everyones favrite girl¨
-
Her life has just crumbled, she is waking up to the truth about something that she has been deceived about her whole life.
She is at a gathering but completely overtaken by the betrayal, and needs to retreat to a room for a bit before she leaves, she needs to cry privately (the tears can impair her driving.)
But after she's done collecting herself she will put on a brave face for others.
She's transforming the pain and turning it into something that takes bravery and courage to speak up and to help the ones that need it.
She's ready to out the assailant, take aim.
She doesn't care about what others think, she is safe with herself.
The fury is fuel, and she's ready for the battle.
