Alessia Cara: Scars To Your Beautiful Meaning
Song Released: 2016
Scars To Your Beautiful Lyrics
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we...

#1 top rated interpretation:I have always liked to believe this song means no matter what you look like you are beautiful, you dont need to wear makeup, or get plastic surgery. just be you, you are beautiful just the way you are.

#2 top rated interpretation:This song is about inner beauty and the world that asks girls to wear a makeup.
I am a teenager and I don't wear makeups or care about my hair when almost all of my friends cover up their faces.
Since I was thirteen all the girls started to care about their appearance and i thought like, when your inside is beautiful why do you have to wear a mask. Now I'm sixteen since the adults continuously asked me to wear makeups I tried some makeups for my first time this year. For me i think it works Real bad and it felt like I'm loosing myself in this world
This song is telling the girls that they are beautiful as they are and they do not have to change themselves to fit in "ideal beauty"
As a teenager i sometimes struggle when people around me asks me to wear a makeup or when all my friends except me are covering up their face. But I know that what I really think beautiful is my own face and my heart.
And I believe the most important thing is to believe that your beautiful isn't somewhere else
"You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart -

#3 top rated interpretation:This song is about how women and girls everywhere don't need to follow society's rules or regulations or whatever. It tells every girl that she is perfect no matter what she looks like, how she acts, what she thinks of herself, or what others think of her. Alessia wants girls to know that it's okay to be different and that we don't have to fit into this mold that our world expects us to have as our goal. We don't have to listen to the idiocy of our stupid world because society doesn't know what it's like to have an eating disorder because someone was told that they're fat. Society doesn't know what it's like to put on loads of makeup and get all the newest and trendiest clothes just to fit in. Just be your fcking self cause that's the most beautiful part of you love you all remember who you are and what you stand for <333

Probably no one is going to read this or care but I just want to say my opinion.
Anyway, when I first heard this song I really connected with it because it gets me and I understand what is feels like to be a teen who has to live up to a bunch of expectations and always follow what everyone says to me .
I think this song is about finding ourself and seeing that you are truly beautiful no matter what everybody else thinks . You just need to be yourself and if certain people can’t expect that then they are idiots .
The lines
“So she tries to cover up her pain
And cut her woes away”
Mean that girls sometimes find it so hard to have to “prove” themselves to society or “fit in “ that they start to hurt themselves so feel better when really it just adds more weight to your shoulders and makes you feel miserable and all alone . Saying this from experience I used to self harm because I didn’t have anyone to talk to ,I felt like nothing mattered anymore and I thought it would help but I was even more broken then before.
This is why you don’t need to listen to anyone and instead follow your heart and make your own decisions. You don’t ever need to resort to self harm or starving yourself for the sake of being (what society defines as ) “pretty “ . You are unique in your own way .
Again probably no one is going to see this but I want to put this out there . Xx
PS : Always follow your heart ❤️ -
This song is talking about a girl that is starving just to look like the girls on the covers and she doesn't understand that she is beautiful the way she is. I really love this song. I always would wear makeup, but when I heard this song I got really emotional and now I don't wear makeup at all!! And remember that EVERYBODY IS BEAUTIFUL THE WAY THEY ARE!!!!

It's about ugly girls, like you should not harm yourselves just to look good for the world. You can still live the way you're though these ugly girls find hard time tryna to love

This is song is really amazing. And I know nobody will read this let alone star this. But here we go.
When I was fourteen, everyone told me to do my hair fancy, put on makeup, wear dresses instead of jeans, and go to tea party’s and stuff like that. Instead, I cut my hair short, wore t -shirts and jeans, and played sports. They weren’t very happy with that.
So I guess what this song must mean is that, society presses girls into doing what they think is appropriate. But even if you decide you like dresses and makeup, or sports and t-shirts. You are beautiful just the way you are and if anything should change, it’s the way society works.
Again, I know nobody will like this or read it. But if you do read it, if you agree, please rate it. And if you don’t agree, please post your opinion. I’d love to see it. -
There are so many girls that starve themselves, so many girls that strive to be perfect that they forget the meaning of being yourself.
They think you need makeup, tight clothing, revealing clothing, to be perfect, to look pretty. Even though all they need is themselves.
All the girls want to be beautiful. The specific girl that strives to be the prettiest. She doesn't understand that she's already perfect. She tries to cover her pain, to be perfect, because covergirls don't cry.
She's singing about being beautiful in your own unique way. Nobodies perfect. No one ever will be. Which is why you have to be yourself. You don't have to change. It's the world that's messed up.
There's so many girls that don't understand that not eating, or just trying to be perfect hurts you more than it helps you. Starving yourself or skipping meals to get skinnier isn't healthy. You lose nutrients and could end up in the hospital. People worry.
It doesn't make sense to try and fix yourself when what needs fixing is the world. -
Omg I can relate to this.I already eat less because I'm to fat.To those out there like me Alessia's message is 'your beautiful just the way you are,you don't have to change a thing the world could change it's heart"

This song is about a girl who is trying to meet the societal standard of beauty and is failing to see that she is fine the way she is

I love this song because I can relate to it in many ways. As the song quotes in different ways, I can see it referencing different things like Anorexia and Self-Harm. Having done both of those things, I think that I can see myself; and for me, this song can touch me in a few different ways. I just tink this song can touch people, and it makes me feel more happy listening to it.

My cousin is having a hard time right now. I bet you can imagine what I mean. Anyways, whenever I even think of this song it reminds me of her. She doesm't realize her own inner beauty, her own strength, and the fact that you don't have to look or be perfect. Just be yourself. And the world shouldn't have the power to change you. The world needs accept you as you are, not the other way around.
-
It tells girls that you dont need to fit in to be beutiful and you're already special and covering you're face with make-up makes you ugly and beautie is pain
-
What about men? they don't have any "you're ok just the way you are" for boys like, it's boy time to shine #boysneedaninnerbeutysong.

I think that this song is about inner buety and I really relate to this song, while I don't starve myself I always compare myself to other teens and I am kind of socially awkward so when I see other 15 year olds I start comparinf myself to them and I sometimes put on makeup but after I heard this song I stopped using makeup anytime I went to a friends house.

This song centers around a girl who is told by everyone that's she's not pretty enough and needs to change herself. For whatever reason, she listens to them, and the results aren't at all good for her.
What Cara is telling this girl is that she doesn't need other people's approval to be beautiful. The beauty that counts comes from the inside. -
every girl should have their freedom at least
they do not need make up for just being beautiful they can show their natural beauty if anyone said you are so ugly it dose not mater what mater is your kindness and your natural beauty etc .
