Dear Maria, Count Me In Lyrics
I'm coming with you
Dear Maria, count me in
There's a story at the bottom of this bottle
And I'm the pen
When the lights go off
I wanna watch the way you
Take the stage by storm
The way you wrap those boys around your...

#1 top rated interpretation:Alex has said in many interviews that there was this girl who was his friend names Maria. And Alex kinda had a crush on Maria. But one day Maria told Alex that she was a stripper. And Alex being the man that he is found that completely cool so he wrote a song about it.

I think 'there's a story at the bottom of this bottle and I'm the pen' means that he'll spill a personal story about Maria the stripper the drunker he gets, because he would never say these things sober, and he's 'the pen' because he's telling the story- or as a pen would do- writing the story.

i just wanted to know what "theres a story at the bottom of this bottle and im the pen" means. anyone know?
-
It all makes sense once you watch the video and then go back to the lyrics. The narrator is the agent of a stripper who will " make her a star " But he sort of falls in love with her at the end because he's " watching from the floor ". And the chorus seems to be saying that he's seen her and he's going to get to the bottom of the story because the story is at the bottom of the bottle, which to me is like an inkwell, and he's the pen, which uses the ink.
I'm not the best explainer, but.... hope it helps -
I'm not actually sure, but my best friend (who is a huuggge ATL fan) and a couple of other people I know were saying that this song is about a friend of theirs that turned stripper, so they wrote a song about it.
