All Time Low: Missing You Meaning
Missing You Lyrics
Self-medicating in the quiet of your room,
Your sweet, suburban tomb.
And if you need a friend,
I'll help you stitch up your wounds.
I heard that you've been
Having some trouble finding your place in the...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this is somehow related to suicide because it says:
Hold on tight, this ride is a wild one -- (Life is a rocky/chaotic road)
Don't lose your fight, kid -- (Don't lose to your depression/ suicide)
It only takes a little push to pull on through -- (You need some hype/ encouragement to get going)
With so much left to do -- (There are a lot of things to look forward to in life)
You'll be missing out and we'll be missing you -- (If you die, you'll miss out all the awesome things and we'll miss you) -

#2 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about a someone who found out their friend is self harming or doing drugs. They're self harming/ doing drugs in their room. They no longer do anything because depression has a handle on them. When he says, "Hold on tight/this ride is a wild one/ Make no mistake the day will come when you can't cover up what you've done" He's saying Life is a wild ride with ups down. One day you won't be able to hide your scars from self harming or the needle pricks from doing drugs so you might as well come out about it now. It'll just get worse. When he says, " Grit your teeth, pull your hair, paint the walls black and scream, fu*k the world cause its my life, I'm gonna take it back, and never fro a second blame yourself."His saying life is hard but tell the world that its your life and theres nothing they can do about it. He says to never blame yourself for anything you did because that was the depression taking over you, so you weren't in your right mind. So it's all right, don't blame yourself. Its not your fault. This what I think he's trying to say.

#3 top rated interpretation:So I used to listen to this song a lot and it used to literally take me to another world. I think that the song is about how children and teens of today's society are having bad times, the lyric "you've been having trouble finding your place in the world" makes me think about people not feeling like they belong in today's society however when the lyric "f!ck the world" comes up it suggests the idea that even though we don't know our place, screw society because it's your own life and you can do what you want, over all the song conveys the idea that we all have tough times and don't give up because it will get better.

This is one of my favorite songs. I think it means that it means That someone had self harmed after they been clean for a while (like what I did) and they feel alone and the band want that person to not feel alone. The person also is thinking about suicide and that where the lyrics I be missing you comes in.

Thise a great song. For me thise song is all about addiction and how one can come out of it.
Sometimes is not always easy as one thinks.Routine is what you build over what you think you 'll not change,That's why when addicted to anything their see it as if it is normal. -
This song in short is someone attempting to cheer up a depressed/suicidal person.

This song has such a good message. I believe this song is about losing your life to drugs, depression, or any other dangerous addiction. The person is "missing out" because they're hiding from everything and most times they are giving in to their addiction. The song is about taking your life back from these addictions and it's also saying that a friend will be there to help you.

This song hits home for me as i had a friend that was going through selfharm and was being bullied at school when i first heard this song it reminded me of her the first lyrics of the song "I heard that you've been
Self-medicating in the quiet of your room,
Your sweet, suburban tomb.
And if you need a friend,
I'll help you stitch up your wounds." to me means when you find out someone's been inflicting harm upon themselves and saying how they spend a lot of time in their "sweet suburban tomb" referring to their bed and how when you're depressed you tend not to want to do anything and the rest of the song put into a few words is helping someone get through a tough time and kind of explaining that even when you're in your roughest point of your life your friend will still be there for you encouraging you to stop and they will want to help you get better instead of abandoning you
This is my personal view of the song so it might not match yours completely ( sorry for any errors ) -
This song to me symbolizes the horrible addictions so many young lives are encountering, especially the terrible heroin addiction sweeping the USA. Lives have been destroyed by such "self-medications" and "it just takes a little push pull on through." These addicted persons are missing out on their true callings in their own life, and their family and friends are missing the who those people once were and who they should be. "you'll be missing out, we'll be missing you." it's a wild ride because of the struggles that they have with wanting to quit their addictions, but it's so very very difficult for them to overcome the obstacles within themselves and within the world. These people need someone to truly care for them to help them overcome the addiction, without dragging that said person down to their level. SO HORRIBLE heroin is. This song touched me with this meaning I interpret with my personal life where I am a victim of heroin. I am not a user, nut my baby's mother is and we miss her and pray she will overcome her addiction. I am a single father now because of this. This song helps me relate this to my personal life. Thank you for reading my interpretation.

To me I think this song is about someone that is going through a tough time. But Alex is trying to tell you that even when life gets you down and you feel like ending it all, don't give up. You have so much to live for and Alex is telling u that he will always be there for you when you need a friend.

this song makes me very happy. for me, its about a person (you) who's going through a rough stage, self-harming. (self medicating)
the song is expressing how they're (you're) not alone and that you will make it through the tough time. He (I) know how you feel and is there for you when you need it.
