   i think this song means that a guy broke up with her and she needs someone/something to numb the pain so it doesn't hurt as much. she can't let go of him so she needs it, even though she's trying her best to forget about it, him, and her mind. she knows it's gonna be a bad idea to bring something to numb the pain

   I think that its about feeling uncomfortable with a new person that is good for you, so you feel that you want to go back to someone who is familiar but toxic. you want them to numb the pain and make you forget about everything, but you know it's a bad idea.
