   It's about her being with a person she knows she shouldn't be with but her heart is saying that she's so into him (his looks) ..so she's getting the courage to break free and do what's best for herself whether she wants to or not "I only wanna die alive never by the hands of a broken heart" shed rather die having been loved than dying being with someone who didn't love her bc they were unsure of themselves

   I beleive it's about a girl who doesn't want to be controlled by the guy she is dating. This song was similar to Problem but she I think she tried to make it as in she is not choosing wether or not to “Break Free”, she is straight away doing it. In the song Problem she was always Broken Free. Break Free was about not letting anyone control you and saying that you should be who you wanna be!

   With the second quote they possibly hide there sexuality to her friends and family and them hating be fake to them self and other.
