Ariana Grande: Everytime Meaning
Song Released: 2018
Everytime Lyrics
Back to you, back to you, back to you
Back to you, back to you, back to you
I go back to you, back to you, back to you every time
[Verse 1]
I get tired of your no-shows
You get tired of my control (Yuh)
They keep telling me to...

Ariana is in a weird relationship. She suggests that he is doing something bad or something he should not be doing when she says “they keep telling me to let go”, meaning people around her see this man’s true colours. In this song, it is not clear if Ariana knows what he is doing wrong but a lyric that could suggest that she does is “Why, oh why does God keep bringing me back to you?”. No matter what she does she keeps going back to this person but it is never stated why. In the song she tries unhealthy and dangerous habits like “I get drunk, pretend that I’m over it”. This clearly states she is not at a good point in her life. And this behaviour from her could be caused by the man getting “High and call on the regular”. She is copying his actions but to forget him instead of going back to him. She is definitely not in a good state of mind

The song is about how even if ari and her lover have problems in their relationship, they always get back together after a breaking up.

I think that everytime is about repeatedly going back to a relationship that was toxic for both parties, even though it's a bad idea, and liking it even though you know it will hurt you both.

The song is about how she is constantly going back and forgiving the same guy over and over again. No matter how many times he hurts her, she goes back ‘ Everytime ‘.
Even after everyone’s tell her to “let go” of him. Which comes back to the Verse
“They keep telling me to let go” and then to “But I don’t really let go when I say so”. Meaning she’s to attached to him, never really seeing herself leaving him. She’s constantly doing drugs or getting drunk to try and forget about him, acting as if she didn’t care for him at all. She feels different and more like herself when she is with him, so when she’s in no communication with him she’s very depressed and constantly thinking about him. When she is trying to get over him and feels herself slowly getting over those feelings, he comes back. Causing her to forgive him and come back too because of all her feelings and hope that he has changed. But in the end it is a repeating cycle. -
this is about mac miller as she mentions drugs and drinking a lot. however, it can also be about her having a crush on this person because of the lyric ''boy, you look at me and I slip outta my lace''. i love ariana and will for ever.

She goes back to him even though she knows he is not good because he does drugs. Personally, I think this was also secretly about Mac Miller. RIP.
