Ariana Grande: Motive Meaning
Song Released: 2020
Featuring: Doja Cat
Motive Lyrics
Tell me why I get this feeling
That you really wanna turn me on
Tell me why I get this feeling
That you really wanna make me yours, ah
'Cause I see you tryin', subliminally tryin'
To see if I'm gon' be the one to sing...
-
I love this song cuz Ariana Grande and Doja Cat are my two favorite singers. I was so happy when this came out.
I think she is asking him why he wants her and if he will treat her good. -
This song, by Ariana Grande, is referring to how a guy (which we now know is Dalton Gomez, her fiancé) wants to be with her (as in like... yea you guys know). She says in the whole song "Baby, tell me, what's your motive?". This song features the amazing Doja Cat, which her part is transmitting the same idea. "I could call bullshit all from a mile away (don't say)
You want me if you can't keep comin' back for me
Might have to curve you if you just can't talk straight (just say)
Say what you mean 'cause you might get it". She is saying in this part that if he wants her, he can't just keep coming for her. "Might have to curve you if you just can't talk straight", if he stutters while talking to her, she will have to curve him, or just like get out of his way. Throughout this whole song she is just talking about Dalton and how he loves her/spoils her sometimes, as it says in the line "You treat me like gold, baby
Now you wanna spoil me".
(this is my opinion)
