The Crimson Lyrics

I feel it welling up inside and Robert Smith lied,
Boys do cry and with blood tears in my eyes I'm an Anne Rice novel come to life.
I can't hide the monster anymore, one can only feel desolate for so long until
One starts to change into...

Alrighty. obviously most of you missed the part where not everything is completely literal. yes, it's about making mistakes and wondering if "she" will still love him after all of his mistakes, but the vampire references are probably purely metaphorical in the sense that vampires feed of other things and are creatures of DARKNESS...an innate fear of being alone and misunderstood and not accepted for the darker side of his nature.

    but what do I know?

Sure. It is a vampire song - and given that the lead is a huge fan of vampires (like reading books by The Great Dame of Vampires - Anne Rice) let's go deeper and not just interpret the song easily - that's injustice.

Anyways, vampire or no vampire influence..the part where it goes: "Will you still hold me when you see what I have done? Will you still kiss me the same when you taste my victim's blood?"

I take it simply as - someone in love or someone who's praying to something or to his friends or love ones; and to determine if they'll still love him after whatever he has done.

THAT is what I to say. Thank you for attention.

seriously, i think it dosent even have anything to do with turning into a vampire. the vampirism is just another way of saying alcoolic or some sort of problem. it refers how alcoolics hurt people and changing is so hard, because the people around you will judge you forever,
    anyways, whatever

i think him changing into a vampire is a metaphore for him getting angry, and ya a vampire is also metaphorical for him being misunderstood, the girl could be a metaphore for everybody.

Read "Interview With The Vampire" by Anne Rice. Then you will understand the meaning of the song.

Ok the guy that talks about metaphors is right but everywhere that people talk about Alex saying this they're wrong because Brandon the drummer writes everything alex just screams what Brandon tells him to

I think this song is about a person becoming a horrible person, trying to change to please himself and those around him yet he knows its bad but he's wondering if his girl will still love him if he changes,

I agree with all of you..!
This song is based on a novel, Vampire chroniks!!
    written by Anne Rice..

"and with blood tears in my eyes, I´m an Anne Rice novel come to Life..."

and I think it´s also about the movie Interview with the vampire... In this song alex tells the story of Louis! I think he can identify himself with Louis. So this is a very personal song!

Damn.. I like the movie I love the Song and I can´t live without this Band..!
Thank you for making such amazing music... <3

Well, the meaning is kind of obvious here.

    1. He's actually a vampire.

    2. He doesn't really want to be a vampire. (I can't hide the monster anymore; My desire to change to deconstruct.)

    3. He wonders if his loved one will still love him in return if she finds out. (Will you still hold me when you see what I have done?)

The lyrics are literal, sort of. So, that's it.

It is about him becoming a vampire it says One starts to change into something the mirror doesn't recognize and vampires do not have reflections in mirrors.

It's about a guy who cheated on his girlfriend when he was drunk, "will you still kiss me the same when you taste my victims blood" which is the other girl he had the affair with. Its kind of a metaphor.

Then I don't think she forgives him because he says "my heart is dead, and so are you" so maybe he gets pissed because she doesn't forgive him.

Ok, no offence to any of you, but I think that the first couple of you are wrong.

The song was based on the book (and movie) interview with the vampire. It is not about becoming a vampire! in the song a couple quotes were borrowed from them (i.e. "to become what I became," "I viewed the sun for the last time.") and though the song does resemble the stuff that happens in the book, it wasn't ment to be seen that way.

Alex Varkatzas made this song because he thought that the book/movie resembled the last few years in his life. Alex used to be an alcoholic before he made this song, and he regrets that. on that note, song is basically about doing a lot of things in your life that you regret doing.

I personally think this song is about vampiric immortality, Alex has been known to be a fan of Anne Rice novels, who is a vampire novelist. This song is also about talking about things in your life you made mistakes on and that you regret.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

It's pretty obvious that the crimson is a symbolism song, it is about an imperfect person comparing himself to a vampire and asking if this special person (probably a girlfriend) will accept that the past is the past, some things have happened, but he wants to change and get help with it "And it pulses through, the desire to change
The desire to deconstruct all of my past failings
But where to begin because when you live in sin
It's hard to look at saints without them
Reflecting you're jet black auras back on you
And all I have is hope, my inner burns not fading
I'll wipe the blood from my cheek and get on with my day"

Well it's clearly about vampires you don't have to know that Anne Rice writes vampire novels to figure that out "I viewed the sun for the last time" "when you taste my victims blood" what could that possibly be about other then vampires?
