AWOLNATION: Jailbreak Meaning
Jailbreak Lyrics
Got no time for a mistake
Any moment 'til the day breaks
No more time to get to know you
I've been working on a jailbreak
Keep it calm with the fast pace
Any moment 'til the day breaks
No more time to...

I felt this way once, in a mental hospital. I wanted to break out, because I felt like I was living on someone else's time, 'living in a dream.' I felt bad about it, though, because there were fellow patients that I really wanted to get to know. But I couldn't, because I had to get out sooner than later. I'm wondering if this is what AWOLNATION might have experienced at some time or other. I know he sometimes sings about ADD, which is a mental illness.

I see it as getting out of a bad place. I think that Aaron wants to get out of something, whether it be a situation, a place, etc. I personally use it as a motivation to move out of California and to the best state, Ohio. I think CA is a prison and I want to break out of it. But that's me.

This song is about suicide as he mentioned numerous times in the song getting to know someone and now it is too late. He sees life as a prison and the only means of escape is suicide "the jailbreak".

This song is about how he does not like what has come with fame. He made a deal with the devil and now he wants out. He wishes he would have started a relationship with God. He is planning an escape from the grips of the illuminati but fear soon they will clone/drone him. ( Replace him ). With Christ it's never too late to turn to him.

Simple yet complex this song depends on ones interpretation of what reality is in order to derive meaning. On one hand the song can be dark and about escaping reality through drugs. On the other hand it can be interpreted as the push pull one experiences when trying to achieve enlightenment.
