Not Your Fault Lyrics

She was built with a brain
and some swagger.
A little scream, little cry,
little laughter.
She's a ten,
I'm a joke in my own mind.
But she still loves to dance
with my punch lines.

This love found us
now I see it.
This love up...

I kinda feel like this girl is so incredible that he can't believe she's with him, and he fights with himself about it...Sometimes taking his frustration out on her...

I think this song is pretty clear. I feel it is a love song. The lead singer has a girlfriend, yet he argues with her from time to time. It took some time, but he realizes he lovers her and wants to tell her it's 'not her fault'.
I feel that interpretation fits about 90%, but the "it's not that you care, i just wanted you to know" line doesn't fit.

I think its about mental illness and how it bubbles up in relationships. He worrys that she that his outbursts will make her leave.

I️ think he’s obsessed with a woman out of his class. He fantasizes about winning her over with constant heroics because he thinks that’d do it but deep down he knows it’ll never happen. So he resents her for his own shortcomings

I think it's pretty simple, really. The singer thinks the world of his girlfriend but has a low opinion of himself, a view that he fears others around him would happily share ("Anyone from my past get your ammo...") and is afraid that his emotional outbursts might finally give her the incentive to leave him. But he recognizes that she still seems to see what's worthwhile in him ("She still loves to dance to my punch lines..." "Find my sun in the dark side of my shadow..."), and is saying that he takes responsibility for any problems they might be facing and that she gives him the incentive to do his best to be a better person ("...fight with myself 'til I'm bleeding..."). "It's not that you should care" has a double meaning- both that he feels the problem is with himself and she shouldn't have to be expending her energy on it, and that he still wonders whether she should care for him.

in the music video, its kind of weird actually. everything is stop motion, and made of clay apperantly. it is aaron and his band going to save a girl from all these monsters and stuff but, saying "its not your fault" could mean that it is aarons fault that she is getting into trouble a lot.

I kind of feel as though is it's directing towards the idea of an accidental birth? "... And maybe it's a wonderful news. It's not your fault.."

I think what the meaning of the song is the guy is deeply in love with the girl he used to date. He feels like she's too good for him, but he would do anything to protect her and keep her safe.

I have my own interpretation of this song. I think its about a guy, meeting a girl he loves, but she likes him as a friend. He also suffers from depression, and hes humble. (Shes 10, im a joke in my own mind.) He also has a bad past (Anyone from my past get your ammo.) He begins obsessing and begins to talk to her all the time. He also blames himself for her not wanting to be with him. He may also have a disorder, and is going insane. Idk, its just how i interpret this amazing song.

This song is about when a couple is fighting, and even if he's mad, he still loves her. He just wants to make things better, even if it calls for damaging his own ego.

I think it's about being bi-polar. How he battles with it daily and how it affects/hurts his friends and love interest, but they still stick with him and eventually overcome it together.

The gentler 'It's not that you should care, I just wanted you to know' makes me think of a woman telling the guy that she's pregnant, but she expects him to run. Him yelling all the rest: I'm confused, I'm yelling, and 'baby that's wonderful news'.....it's not your fault- is him coming to terms and accepting it, but more so her. 'This love found us now I see it', is just furthering how much he trully loves her.
