Beck: Loser Meaning
Song Released: 1994
Loser Lyrics
Butane in my veins and I’m out to cut the junkie
With the plastic eyeballs, spray-paint the vegetables
Dog food stalls with the beefcake pantyhose
Kill the headlights and put it in neutral
Stock car...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This was Beck's attempt to sound like Chuck D. It only took him like 10 minutes to write. It's just a bunch of rhyming words. He says, "I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me" as a way to poke fun at his bad rapping.
-
I cannot believe everyone thinks this is random words.
He is talking about life on the road being part of a stock car put crew.
Examples, cause the entire song is relevant. Are as follows.
Chimpanzees are smart, monkeys follow directions.
Ie he is the dumb ass kid in the group. Reno with a vitC ,that is a car, sponsored by sunny delight racing in Reno, Nevada.
Cut the headlights and put it in neutral, loser with the cruise control,ie why are we racing I am behind a guy I can't pass but who is going super slow and non aggressive. I might as well stop and coast.
Lines like get crazy with the cheese wiz, are the crew playing pranks on each other and he doesn't have a place to sleep except some old unused couches so he picks the love seat instead of the larger, more used and presumably more worn out, full size one.
The entire song is like this. -
Beefcake pantyhose is a reference to a commercial made by Joe Namath after Super Bowl III. He wore pantyhose in the commercial and it was considered pretty risque' at the time.
-
To me in my perspective, he said no what he does he sucks at everything. His life is messed up and nothing goes right. also, The inspiration for him calling himself a loser was his attempt at trying to fuse rock with rap, and discovering that he was really bad at it, and so he sings "I'm a loser, baby, so why don't you kill me?" And the rest of the song's content floated easily as he keeps moping about how he is an outcast to society. Just like me. :-([. Like the song, though.

In a time of chimpanzee i was a monkey he want to say when everybody was mature he was having fun or he was dumb maybe be child
With a plastic eye balls spray paint the vegetables he was playing with dolls and toys when he was kid .
He was in a competition where he loses with someone if he is he a loser why dont they kill him becaz everybody knows he is a tough guy. -
It is a song about "Huffing" addiction :p
-
It's true. This song has no real meaning. The song is an intended joke.

I'm suprised not one person knows marijuana is processed into hash with Butane....Hash, is sometimes known as "Wax"...there are obscure references like this throughout that I don't have time to go through...but it is NOT jibberish.
-
"My time is a piece of wax, fallen on a termite, that's chokin on the splinters."
Obviously, he spends all his time with women who crave wood. Duh! -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
Quit trying to find meanings cause they are none... duh.
-
It means just being an outsider

It is really about his failure to rap well like chuck D....after making an ass of himself in the studio trying to rap, he produced I'm a Loser, Baby in like 15 minutes....he then asserted it to instruments and random noises like he always does.....yoooo
-
I heard him and the producer made like a mad lib out of it and each wrote lyrics but left out random nouns, verbs, etc. and then they did mad libs and filled in the blanks...either that or they were stoned

To me he saying no what he does he sucks at everything. His life is messed up and nothing goes right.
