Billy Talent: Worker Bees Meaning
Worker Bees Lyrics
Know your enemy!
We take our orders given by the queen
We're not the killers, we're the worker bees
If you resist us you will feel our sting
Surrender now before the swarm sets in
Protect the hive from...

#1 top rated interpretation:Not just that:
It about the US involvment in Iraq yes but also what its
about-oil(supply of honey dripping endlessly)
it also says that if you piss off the US they will screw you(play by our rules or you'll be powerless) and how by correcting one wrong they hope that it will make up for others and "cleanse them" or save their souls.
Also(sorry I'm jumping around) I belive the worker bees are other countrines blindly following the lead of the US just like worker bees follow the queen bee. -
For those of you bashing Americans for thinking it's about our country, it sure sounds like it.
"A pollination coming from the west.
And in a flash we will invade your nest.
Supply of honey flowing bottomless.
Live by our rules or you'll be powerless."
It sounds like a country from the west is invading another for the resources the latter posseses. So how many countries in the Western Hemisphere invade other countries for resources such as oil? I'm not happy about what my government has done or what they are currently doing, but there isn't really much I can do about it.
Maybe it's not about America. Maybe the band was angered by the resources Canada was stealing from the Middle East. But I don't think Canada has led any oppresive charges recently. -
It is about the Americans stealing oil and being ruthless or something
-
It is not about world war 2
Dumb ass, and yes, they ARE singing about America,
God damn coon
It is about Americas ruthlessness,
Think about Libya, gaddafi was a good guy, but Libya did not want to be apart of the us dollar, so they demonized him
Bastard Americans.... -
I am sorry, but why wouldnt or couldnt billy talent write a song about the american war? like really, the states actions have a huge impact on Canada and Canadians, and this is coming from a Canadian from the prairies! I think what the people have commented are genius and really helpful in getting to the deeper meaning of this song! I think the 'we take orders from the queen' line is about how the soliders must follow through with the orders they are given from higher persons.

Good call on the oil and honey notion, didn't notice that.
-
This is about George Bush being the queen bee of America and how the worker bees are the soldiers in Iraq, fighting to save themselves and their souls.
-
Well, I do agree with you, It is about some kind of soldiers or it could also be about the business industry because people's bosses work them like they are soldiers! "WE TAKE OUR ORDERS FROM THE QUEEN"- from the boss heh
-
I think song is about soldiers in Iraq. The Analogy is quite genius and it is good.
