Blue October: Any Man in America Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Any Man in America Lyrics
I only note spending time away
I only note the truth is spoken
Best when brutally so honestly.
I'll let you know you set
The standards lyrically for me
One single middle finger
Say raise it up
My speech will...

Reading or listening to this song is as self explanatory as it gets. Justin feels as though he's been screwed over by the ex, the court systems, and just about everyone else. He describes how Eminimen (In particular, the song "Mockingbird") has inspired and done wonders for him.
-
The lyrics of this song talk about Justin's ex wife being favored in court because of her gender. Justin just wants to be with his daughter and he is saying that he feels the legal systems sort of favor the mothers over the fathers in custody cases.
-
Pretty much in the beginning he talks about his inspiration being eminem ant the rest of the song is about our legal system and how it favors the women over the men.
-
Well I know that his inspiration that he's singing about in the beginning is eminem "a hiphop legend with skin like invisible ink, like even though he was whiter than me".
