Blue October: She's My Ride Home Meaning
She's My Ride Home Lyrics
Together sharpening the knife
Like killing partners for a life
Hey we can hide the bodies on the ride home
Now here we are
We're licking skin to wipe us clean
Strike a match, pour gasoline
Ditch the scene and watch this city...

I can’t help but feel it’s based on “Natural Born Killers” every time I listen to it. If you haven’t seen this classic film then I can’t suggest it enough. An amazing cult classic and once you do listen to this song again and see what you think, so many references in there match the movie

She's My Ride Home by Blue October, very clear lyrics but at the same time not clear too. Nice video anime. Latest comment, explained their thoughts about this song. Browsed at songmeanings website, and nice meaning from MrazFan.

I hear it as sort of a Thelma and Louise type of song. "It's getting dark and the highways clear...no signs of life from front to rear...it's just you my dear on the ride home...we're going home".
-
They've done things in their past to hurt each other. They're figuratively killing the people that they've had in their past. He sees only her now there's no one else he doesn't care if no one else believes they're going to make it this time.

"Together sharpening the knife
Like killing partners for a life
Hey we can hide the bodies on the ride home"
They are soulmates and the boides are their own -
bout two lovers who are psycopathic killers. i think thts wat it means.

I sort of see this as a new beginning song.
The ride home refers to where they were in the beginning. It's the only place they can call home. "She's my ride home" and "I'm your ride home" means that they are eachother's key to true happiness.
"We Drive
To leave the past and clear the mind
to watch the sunset set its time"
This means they're taking back their lives and not worrying about the past.
In some places, it refers to burning or killing. This also is referring to forgetting about a painful past.
