   I can’t help but feel it’s based on “Natural Born Killers” every time I listen to it. If you haven’t seen this classic film then I can’t suggest it enough. An amazing cult classic and once you do listen to this song again and see what you think, so many references in there match the movie

   I sort of see this as a new beginning song.
   The ride home refers to where they were in the beginning. It's the only place they can call home. "She's my ride home" and "I'm your ride home" means that they are eachother's key to true happiness.
   
   "We Drive
   To leave the past and clear the mind
   to watch the sunset set its time"
   This means they're taking back their lives and not worrying about the past.
   In some places, it refers to burning or killing. This also is referring to forgetting about a painful past.
