Bob Marley: Smoke Two Joints Meaning
Smoke Two Joints Lyrics
One of them was a male and the other two, well, the other two were females.
God only know what they were up to in there.
And furthermore susan, I wouldn’t be the least bit...

This is not the song by Bob Marley. These lyrics are from another version of the song "Smoke Two Joints" the following is the Bob Marley version:
I smoke two joints at night,
I smoke two joints in the afternoon
and it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace
and two in time of war
smoke two joints before I smoke two joints
and then I smoke two more
yeah that's what I do, hey
mama she always told me son you really have it bad
mama she always told me son you do the best you can
then one day I met a man he came to me and said
I work good and I work fine but first take care of him
I smoke two joints in the morning
I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the video game
and it mkes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in the time of peace
and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints
and then I smoke two more
ooh ooh ooh ooh
one peace one time
funny days, funny days
gimme that bass line
fellas fellas
I know this because I just watched a video of bob marley performing it. -
"Smoke Two Joints" is a song originally released by The Toyes. According to the Toyes, "one fine fall day on a small island" on Oahu in Hawaii, Mawg and Sky were sitting under a large banyan tree on Kuhio Beach, "tokin on some sweet Kona bud & jammin on a rootsy reggae groove" when they conceived the song "Smoke Two Joints."

I think this is an awesome song! I think there is an unknown meaning that everyone is missing. It's talking about smoking pot of course, that's obvious enough, but his parents believed in him and wanted him to do good. I feel like when he met this random guy that told him to take care of his "head" was based on "peer pressure". when he tried it and didnt want to quit, he just went with the flow of things. It is a great song, but everyone interprets everything differently, so it's just what you take from it yourself. No right or wrong answers to what the song means regardless of who it's by. It's a song. So yeah...it's all about the music baby!
-
The meaning of the song is clear, it's about smoking weed.
This song was originally released by The Toyes in 1983, but Sublime covered that song in 1992 and other people I know think this is a Sublime song. As far as I know Bob Marley (R.I.P)never did this song, it was The Toyes. -
I don't think this song needs much interpretation... but I liked how that... person earlier said cheeto...
-
Smoke two joints is a very old poem, probably a traditional song by that context.
I don't doubt the toyes took full credit for the song cause the poem is like a crack ho, it's been around. I am sure there are plenty of people who have made songs out of it, it is just that brad of sublime a damn good version. -
You guys are missing the point of the song. Just smoke a joint guys. Chill out. "hard work good, and hard work fine, but first take care of head".
-
www.wikipedia.en states that "Smoke Two Joints" was NOT by Bob Marley, contrary to popular belief. It was by the Toyes, and covered by Sublime (which is how it gained such high popularity).
Whoever put the song on here was obviously confused and thought Marley did it... but he didn't.
This song really doesn't need interpretation anyway. It's meaning is pretty clear.
(Unless you wanna dig deeper and say it's about the apathy formed by habitual drug use. But most people would say that's reaching too far.) -
Yeah I have the exact same guy above me is this a Bob Marley song or not? If not why is he give credit for this song.
Back to interpreting, this song is all about weed and I love it! -
If you are saying that it was written in 1983, and Bob couldn't have sang it since he died in 1981, why is this song under 'Bob Marley' on this website?
-
SkaderPunc211 is so wrong it is not funny. The song Smoke 2 Joints was written by a group called The Toyes in 1983 and firest released on their album in 1996. Unfortunately for your argument is that Bob Marley died in 1981. Sorry dude, but you been smokin 2 joints too long. For proof see here:

Wow... so immature. Oh well, I don't care who it's by, i love the song. So..breathe..its just plain ignorance that makes yall argue (and yes I am from alabama..i say yall)..and just for the 13 year old...by saying your ignorant I'm not calling you stupid...just for your referance ignorant means to be uninformed or unknowing...and my point is to learn some respect..so peace out~
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
