Breaking Benjamin: Polyamorous Meaning
Song Released: 2002
Polyamorous Lyrics
The day has come to an end
The sun is over my head
My polyamorous friend
he got me in a mess of trouble again
[Chorus:]
So
Just when you think that you're all right
I'm calling out from the inside
I never heard anyone
I never...
-
This song is about the insane.
Listen to the actual music in the song. is it just me, or does it sound kinda childish? not stupid, but... i don't know.
'Just when you think that you're all right
I'm calling out from the inside
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all'
It almost sounds as if he has a multiple personality, at times he thinks he is alright, but he isn't. He dosn't hurt anyone, but he can't stop.
'they've come to get me again
The cloud is over my head
My polyamorous friend
You got me in a mess of trouble again'
He might have some strange form of sex addiction, something that caused HUGE trouble for him. 'They' could refer to some sort of athority figure. In his mind, he didn't hurt anyone, but he actually did.
'Just stay away from the white light
I'd say your worst side's your best side
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all'
White light is always associated with death in my mind. His worst side is his best because he literally lets himself go. -
Breaking Benjamin write music a little more meaningful than being about a penis. Get real. The song has nothing to do with that.

"The day has come to an end, the sun is over my head"--- means that its morning/noon, he has been up all night, doing what he shouldn't, hence "my polyamorous friend, you got me in a mess of trouble again."
-
Well.. The lyrics here are wrong, if you have the album "Saturate" the lyrics are "calling out from the inside" and "never heard anyone"
Polyamorous means to have a relationship with more then one person and in thwe music video they show that and they also show the band spying on some "Polyamorous" couples.
So.
"Let's Go!"
He just wnats to get done with having sex
"The day has come to an end,
The sun is over my head"
The day is over, it's night.
The sun is over he's head proably means that he feels "hot" and "warm" and ready to have sex.
"My polyamorous friend,
You got me in a mess of toruble again"
Hes "Poly" friend has made him somehow unable to controll he's horny feeling.. furhter information coming now.
"So,
Just when you think that you're alright,
I'm calling out from the inside,
I never heard anyone,
I never listen at all"
Now he is being.. well, sick to the girls, they are proably all having sex with him and when he gets caught" proably by he's gf" he's excuse is "I never heard anyone, I never listen at all"
"They come to get me again,
The cloud is over my head"
Hes poly friends wants him again, and now it feels like he's own storm is over him again.
"Just stay away from the white light,
I'd say your worst sides your best side"
He wants them to stay away from him "He is the white light". And he's Poly friends worst sides makes more please but it is more "perverted"
"Well how do you know?"
Well that is just Ben "the singer" asking people how they would know that their friends ait Polys..
I know that I made this song look very silly and sexual but that's just what I think it's about..
Amen -
He's talking about his polyamorous penis, duh... His "little friend" gets him into trouble because he sticks it everywhere
-
Dictionary.com defines "polyamorous" as follows:
Main Entry: polyamorous
Part of Speech: adj
Definition: pertaining to participation in multiple and simultaneous loving or sexual relationships
That being said, this is only translating the word literally, but in our culture, I can assure you the word in question typically refers to a highly sexual person, usually used as a synonym for the "uber-promiscuous".
The lyric,"Well how do you know?" repeated throughout the song recalls the philosophic nature of the discussion of morality, and one can easily imagine a friend proposing this question in light of rebuke from promiscuity.
The duality of the song in its entirity easily conjures the image of a friend split between admiration and unease with the situation his friend is in, or between pride and conviction with the situation he is in himself. -
Poly - many
amore is love? I think
so many loves. -

Polyamorous generally means more than just cheating on someone. There are lots of polyamarous parades and such, supporting it. If a man has several wives, that is a polyamorous relationship. Also, doesn't matter if everyone in the relationship is consenting to it, because this type of relationship is generally frowned upon in society, thus he's not in trouble from his lovers, but from society as a whole
-
Polyamoruos friend? got me in a mess of trouble again? He's probably talking about his dick!!
-
Nope, it only means that one person is involved in many intimate relationships whether they be loving or purely sexual. Personally, as I guy, I know what it's like to have a "polyamorous friend". We want to get it on with everything and it gets some guys into trouble.
-
No no no. The word means to have more than one caring, meaningful relationship where all people involved are completely knowledgeable of one another. I don't know what the meaning song is, but according to the definition, it can't have anything to do with problems arising because someone found out about the other relationship.
-
Yeah I agree with the first one, it is about a person who has many lovers. Also where it says you got me in a mess of trouble again means that they have been caught.
Cool video.
