Breaking Benjamin: Until The End Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Until The End Lyrics
Whatever,
I'm done with these endeavors.
Alone I walk the winding way.
(Here I stay)
It's over,
No longer,
I feel it growing stronger.
I'll live to die another day,
Until I fade away.
[Chorus:]
Why give up, why give...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about someone fighting with them selves in their heads maybe about committing suicide because of a dead lover, then deciding to go on until the end.
its over, no longer, I feel it growing stronger I live to die another day
(I think this means that he no longer feels the urge to kill himself)
Why give up? Why give in?
It's not enough, it never is
So I will go on until the end
(I think this means that he's realizing: why would you want to kill your self? no matter what happens it's not enough to do that; it never is)
We've become, desolate
It's not enough, it never is
But I will go on until the end
(this is reffering to his dead loved one. They have become far apart, and no matter what he trys to get them back or reject that it happened it's not enough, it never is, but he will still go on until the end)
Surround me, it's easy, to fall apart completely
I feel you creeping up again (In my Head)
(the first line is him saying how easy it is to fall apart. The second line is thoughts of his dead loved one creeping back into his mind)
It's over, no longer, I feel it growing colder
I knew this day would come to end, so let this life begin
(the first line is him, again over coming the urge to kill himself. The second line is his thoughts ending and him re-building his life)
I've lost my way
I've lost my way
But I will go on until the end
(this is him saying that he's lost without his loved one. but he still will go on until the end)
Living is, hard enough, without you fucking up
(this line is about how he has a hard enough time living without her dying on him)
The final fight I win
The final fight I win
The final fight I win
(he wins the final fight against his urge to kill himself)
But I will go on until the end
(he will live until the end) -

#2 top rated interpretation:I'd argue the song is about the opposite of perseverance: the singer has, in fact, given up. "It's not enough, it never is," yet despite that, he doesn't know how to stop anymore. So he's continuing on his way, despite knowing, at the core of it, that whatever goal he set out to achieve (and I'm not sure what that is) is permanently out of reach. It's about having lost all hope, but going on anyway, because you have no idea how to stop.

#3 top rated interpretation:I think its about a relationship or friendship that has become poisonous.... Its about realising you have held on to it for too long

I think it's a fight between his depression and losing his loved one.
[We've become desolate] We're not as close anymore. We're distant and barely together.
[Living is hard enough without you fucking up] living without you in my life is hard enough but now you're making all these mistakes and ruining your life and it's bringing me down more.
[I feel it growing colder]
His love for and from her as they split.
[I knew This day would come to end] I knew we weren't going to work out.
[So let this life begin] I'm just going to keep doing me and live life.
[Why give up why give in it's not enough it never] Why give in to the depression
[The final fight I'll win] I'll get over what you did to me and how you left me. The depression will fade.
[I will go on until the end] self explanatory
The lead singer leaves the meanings open for interpretation so that's what this song means to me but it's intended meaning might be something else. -
He's been through a toxic relationship. Living was hard enough but the one he loved messed up. "Living is hard enough
Without you fucking up" (A direct quote from the song). His urges and temptations begin to grow stronger and colder. He knows that the fix he gets from his addiction whether it is from a drug or his toxic relationship is never enough. He asks why give up and why give in. He acknowledges that he walks alone and that he'll live through what's happening in his life. At the end of the song he says he's lost his way. He gave into his temptation but he will go on until the day he dies until he wins the final fight, which is his struggle with this woman or drug. -

Until the end is a fight about something. Although its stupid that i discoverd this song due to a naruto amv, i got hooked on it and now BB is my favorite band. Naruto is a ninja that never gives up on something once he puts his mind to it. Thats why i believe this song is about a fight or battle agaist somthing. Whether its a mental illness (suicide) or physical (cancer). It can also signify a journey in the life of a person. One of the reasons why i like BB so much is because their so.ga have so many meanings and you can believe the one tjas represents you the most.

this song is about not giving in to the wishes and needs of others. the begining of the song says that he has had enough of sacrificing himself for "others". " I live to die another day" says that he is meant to die some other time, not die trying help "others". in the end he says the "final fight i win" because he knows how to fight for himself but the "others" know only how to depend apon others.
"others" are possibly some supposedly loved one like a girl friend
this is what i feel this song means -
he loves someone and cant live with out them and its does matter what he does he just has to put up wit it. she pro treats him bad but he just deals wit it cause he loves her and cant leave her so he goes on till the end. u know i wish they would put no games on here i love that song and its got great lyrics i think it would b the best song to talk about its got great meaning.

Okay, maybe this was influenced by what was going on when I heard it. My Grandfather was suffering from cancer and I was heavily involved with the Relay 4 Life when I really listened to this song, and all I could think of was a fight against cancer. I don’t really want to get into the details, but it seems a bitter person watches everyone try to save him, and he knows he will die because he can feel the cancer looming. He is bitter at the cancer (hence the cussing), angry at his family because they can cry so easy ( “It’s easy to fall apart completely”), but no matter what despair he has, he will keep fighting, if only for something to do. But, at the end, he decides he really wants to live, so he will win the final fight. Comments? That was just the way it sounded to me, I wonder how it fits, even if it is wrong.

this song is about how tough life can be, and many times, most people consider the idea of a quick end, but "Why give up, why give in?", and no matter what, we will never have "enough", it is a human need if you will, to want more, to try to get more than we have, and quite often we will lose our way, but its always best to hang on, and just tough it out, because for all of the sucky parts of life, its worth it to just have those few happy moments.
thats what i think -
I think this song is about someone who wants to commit suicide, but decides not to. They have separated themselves from the world (We've become so desolate) And are trying to get back to where they can live. They can feel themselves give back into temptation. But they don't let it affect them.
-
It was just about him breaking up with his girlfriend and trying to move on with his life, you can take it as deep and meaningful an stuff like that but it was just something simple that can happen to all of us, no bullshit about suicide.

Ok this sounds really gay but think about it...think about doing like a trick or some big feat like...say a trick on a skateboard. ''why give up? why give in?'' stick with it ''its not enough...it never is'' no matter how hard I try ill nvr get it right ''surround me, its easy, to fall apart completely'' he tried to show otehr people what he could do when he thought he perfected it but he sucked it up and everyone laughs at him ''living is hard enough without you fucking up'' he gets mad at his mistake and blames everyone...''the final fight I win'' he practices over and over and over again and eventually he gets it right
idk just my opinion -
I think it basically about how when life seems so unbearable, you should just keep moving in spite of everything and even when it seems your just hopelessly moving toward nothing, never give up.
-
It's realizing you fucked up and trying your hardest to accept it.. It's not about achievement... It's about realizing your mistakes
-
This song is about perseverance. Sometimes it's easier to give up than to fight through a problem. Many people would like to us fail in our endeavors, but we need survive just so we can shove it in their faces! They put us through crap so we will give up, but we won't and it will irritate them endlessly. They failed, not you.
