Carrie Underwood: Blown Away Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Blown Away Lyrics
Those storm clouds gather in her eyes
Her daddy was a mean old mister
Mama was an angel in the ground
The weatherman called for a twister
She prayed blow it down
There's not enough rain in Oklahoma
To...

I think that she tries to wake her father who is past out because of drinking but can't wake him up. So she locks her-self in the cellar with hope of surviving the tornado. As the tornado past the house it carries the house with her father with it. She survived, and the bad memories she had with her father is "blown away": every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away

To me it is clear that this girl not only witnessed abuse (ultimate death) towards her mother, but has been abused herself physically and sexually. In the video the father asks her about her studies, and then reaches for her in a way that makes her feel uncomfortable. She gets up to leave, and he grabs her arm to pull her close in a forceful manner. She looks at him in anger like she knows what he is about to try and do to her, and races to get away. He seems super surprised like this is the first time she has been brave enough to walk away. So he pulls the "I'm your father" card like she ought to respect him. Going to the lyrics - the pain seems quite heavy. She wants everything "blown away" - "there's not enough rain in Oklahoma to wash the sins out of that house" There's a plethora of sin (murder, physical and sexual abuse)"there's not enough wind in Oklahoma to rip the nails out of the past" - she will forever be haunted by the memories of hatefulness, destruction and deceit. However, the twister does destroy enough to give her new found freedom.

its about a drunk dad who killed his wife while the daughter was abused as well. and when the storm came she didnt even want to wake the dad (neither would i) because of all the horrible sins he did to her. so she takes shelter crying because of the memories, hoping that when the dad is gone so will the memories. honestly i would do the same to my dad to (depending on what he did)

Interesting to note a Carrie video about a tornado wins a CMT award about the same time Carrie donates $1 million toward Oklahoma tornado relief.

This girl has been abused by her father that has a drinking problem. Her mother is dead. A tornado is coming and she hides. She first findes her dad pasted out and trys but couldn't wake him up. She hid in the cellar and hoped that everything she has taken from her father will go away (she wanted her father dead.)But, for her, the her horrible past cannot go away even though the prolem is gone. She says there is not enough wind in Oklahoma to destroy everything. This is like real life because that little girl will always remember it, but won't have anymore experience. I hope this is helpful.

There is a young woman, who lives in a house with her sexually/physically abusive father who killed her mother. When a tornado comes she locks herself in the cellar hoping that her father and the entire house of sins in which she witnessed gets blown away, do that she can continue her life trying to forget about him. Strong Song :)

This song is about a girl who is abused by her father and he killed her mother. When the news reports a tornado coming she locks herself in the cellar hoping the storm blows down her house and kills her abusive alcoholic father.
-
its about a girl who father killed her mom and abuse her and he is always drunk and she wishes the house would just blow away taking all the bad memories with it kinda sad
-
Basically, the young woman lives with her abusive Father and she wants revenge on her Father for being so abusive towards her and that night, when the tornado hits, she leaves her Father on the couch to die and locks herself in the storm cellar.
-
to me the storm represents her anger at her father. it says " those storm clouds gather in her eyes". it also says " some people called it taking shelter , she called it sweet revenge ". she's so mad at her dad for killing her mom that she gets "storm clouds in her eyes."

The song is about a wife teaming up with her husband’s mistress so as to get their revenge by conspiring his murder. The story starts with the wife finding the other woman’s number on her husband’s mobile phone as she is suspecting that something is wrong. So she calls the number and thus she finds out about the immoral affair of her man with another woman. Not only is the wife unaware of the existence of the mistress but also the mistress is unaware of the existence of his wife, hence the husband lies and cheats on both women. So they decide to get their vengeance by killing him. The first time that the two women see each other face to face is at the funeral. They both throw a handful of dirt into the ground and lay a rose down. These are regular customs of burying a dead person. In spite of the fact that the two women both wear black veils none of them is truly sad or even regretful for the crime they secretly commited as they don’t even bother to cry.The climax of the plot is when the two women ‘’share a smile before they walk away’’, which implies that the two women are satisfied as their target was accomplished. As Carrie mentioned we can assume that the two black cadillacs is the gift that the man offered to both women. The two women share the secret of killing the man who deceived them just like the man kept the secret about the two affairs.Hence ‘’ he’s not the one who has a secret to hide’’. (The music video has not been released yet...)

The video is about a girl whose mother died after the father had got drunk and killed her. Then he still continued to drink thinking it would take away the memories but he now abuses his daughter. His daughter wishes that a storm would just take away all the bad memories. Her father drunk the day the storm was coming and binged drinked until he passed out on the couch. The storm was nearly there when the daughter tried waking up the dad. But she eventually had to leave because the storm was getting closer and she still felt that taste for revenge. So she left him and went to the feller crying for what she had done but still feeling the ease for revenge. So after the storm she went outside to see that her house was no longer there.

It's about a girl that lives with her abusive and alcoholic father and he obviously killed her mother while drunk when she did nothing wrong and the girl finds out that there is going to be a tornado she tries to wake her father and save him but she fails so she locks herself in a cellar and she hopes that the tornado blows the house away taking her father with it in the line "every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away " means all the abusive memories gone and at the end she refreshes her life and gets a new start and is happy again and that's what I think it means.

The song is about a dad who is a drunk and may have been abusive to his wife. She died and is called an angel because she did nothing wrong to deserve death. The mother may or not have been killed by the father.
The daughter notices a storm/tornado coming and she hides in the cellar of their house. She left her dad on the couch who was passed out from being so drunk.
The daughter wishes all the pain and sins would wash away with the storm but its never enough. -
I think that is a good idea to do since he killed your mother i am ashamed on him why would he do that to you i am glad he died in the tornado he will not be like that anymore i am so glad so you don't have to deal with him anymore i am so glad i am a best fan of you i love that song and so does my grandma and my dad. I love the meanings then i am happy that i can know what the song is about and why you wrote it. It is a really good song and i learned somthing about things about that song i love it so much.
