Two Black Cadillacs Lyrics

Two black Cadillacs driving in a slow parade
Headlights shining bright in the middle of the day
One is for his wife,
The other for the woman who loved him at night
Two black Cadillacs meeting for the first time

[Chorus:]
And the preacher...

I think the plot is more sinister than what it appears. I think that the wife and mistress knew about each other. One took care of him during the day and the other at night. I think the phone number was to some child pronography and the 2 women could not tolerate that at all and killed him.

Many f you obviously don't understand this songs meaning.

Carrie was the wife and that random lady was the "mistress". When Carrie drove her Cadillac down the ally, she saw him and another lady and the lady left. She turned on her headlights and drove towards him. When she is driving her Cadillac in the daytime, she is driving to the funeral. They both kill him for revenge. When they are at the funeral, she lays her magic 8 ball keychain on the coffin and it gets rid of the evidence. It's still a pretty good song though!

Has anyone noticed her repetitive mentioning of cars? Me and my friend say (in carries point of veiw)-( what'd be funny if she said on a dating advice, getting over a break up advice column )::::: " well first I let Jesus take the wheel. Then I run over my ex in my black Cadillac. Lastly when they're dead, I shove my key in the side of their car, carve my name into their leather seats, then take a luoie vill slugger to both head lights , and smash a hole in all four tires.". :D. But honestly she is a talented singer and a great christian song writer. ;)

In this song, Carrie Underwood begins to suspect suspicious behavior from her husband. For so long, he had been living a double life, as in "One was for his wife, and the other for the one who loved him at night." So one day, she calls a phone number and discovers he's been having an affair. Both outraged, they decide to kill him. In the music video, it shows her running over him, but that is just a suggestion. When it says they shared a crimson smile, that means that they both shared a smile about him dying, and crimson isn't considered a mourning color. When it says they left the secret at the grave, it means they left the secret that they killed him there, then parted there separate ways.

Omg! I so love the music video *.*
Well, it's about a wife who called her husband's phone and a strange woman answered; she turns out to be the one he's cheating his wfe with ,but his lover didn't even know he had a wife so they set him up and that damn husband GETS KILLED! ...
That's what happens to every single man who'd cheat on Carrie. Fuck with her, she walks over you with her black Cadillac. ;)

I agree the man should be punished, but with all the murders in today's world, do we really need songs about it!

I just watched the video and it turns out that the two women he was dating killed him by running him over with 2 cars. The cars were two black Cadillacs.

It is about a man who cheated oh his wife with Carrie. I know because the other women was the wife because she had a ring. But anyways the wife calls the number on his phone and learns he is having a affair and the 'affair girl' (Carrie) did not know he was married. So they plan to kill him and as the wife turns on the Cadilac lights Carrie walks off to get in her Cadilac. That's when he runs off and Carrie shies her lights on him and pins him to wall. They then go to the grave and the preacher talks about how he is a good man and his brother says he is a good friend but they know he isn't. The secret they left was that they kill him. Then at the end of the video the car goes back to perfect without a dent. That is because Carrie would thought it would've been cool if it fixed it self and drove it self like the car out of Stephen Kings "Krissy". I think that's what its called. But they women plotted to kill him and that's why they didn't shed a tear at his funeral.
    Hope this helped! :D

Ok so Carrie is the mistress. Watch the music video and you'll notice she doesn't have the wedding ring, the other woman does. The wife calls a number that was on the husbands phone(Carrie's). Neither of them knew of the other. They are both royally pissed and plan to kill him. Neither of them cry at the funeral because they knew of his true self. The crimson smile was a red lip stick covered smile that they shared at his funeral because they were happy they killed him. It's really not a difficult song to interpret and the video clears up any questions you may have.

Based loosely on Stephen King’s Christine, a novel about a car with a mind of its own.

The funeral is occurring with two widows in matching black veils and void of emotion standing by a coffin. Scenes of Carrie’s car in a dark alleyway, the cheating husband in its headlights, cut in throughout the video before the car finally mows the man down – and then repairs itself.

    Carrie's a Stephen King fan.

So everyone thinks the wife and mistress get together and kill the cheating man... But wouldn't the wife want to kill the mistress too??? Its not just the cheater but the mistress is doing wrong to... Right?? So obviously the gf does not know he had a wife and that be the only reason they both would kill him.

Okay, I have watched the music video and I think that the wife and girlfriend conspired the murderer on the phone. They both killed him, one chased him down an alley, and the other ran him down. They were both in Cadillacs. The other thing that could have happened, (and this confuses me) is the cars by themselves killed him. At the end of the music video, the two women are shown sitting in the back of a single Cadillac that is driving itself. I don't know what actualy happened. There is also the 'crimson smile's. This is referring to the fact that red is NOT a typical mourning colour. I personally think that you lot should all ask Carrie yourselves.

They both talked on the phone and planned his murder. Then they didn't cry at the funeral and wore red lipstick which stands for blood shed. They definitely got that.

I think they both talked on the phone and planned his murder. And I also agree with the lipstick suggestion.
