Cavetown - Sweet Tooth Meaning
Sweet Tooth Lyrics
Think I'll try to be someone else
Can't be hard to paint a person
In my head, create a version
The parallel
Pull my head out the sand
Try as hard as I can
Guess I must be satisfactory
You said you love me exactly...

I feel like it’s about you loving someone who hurt you mentally, yet you still love them and still want to be around them. They don’t like you but you want them to love you just as much as you love them, and you have a soft spot just for that person they are your “sweet tooth”.
This was the song I listened to after my breakup :’) -
I think this song is about liking someone that doesn’t like you back. even though spending time with them or still talking with them may feel good, it can be really hurtful mentally, and that’s what i interpret as the ‘cavities’ brought up in this song. By the lines ‘I like you, Say it back’ i think it represents waiting on someone you like for them to hopefully have feelings for you.

So disclaimer this is just my opinion but I feel like the song sweet tooth is about a child craving the sweetness of parental attention, or about the point of view that the people who had crushes on him felt when they found out he was aromatic. The words "I like you say it back" could be related to either of the interpretations I have described, but the lyrics "I have a sweet tooth for you." Makes me think that the child just wanted love and attention from his parents, but instead they gave me the sourness of neglect.
There's my s***y interpretation:)
