If there's one thing I've learned about Chevelle, it's that they don't really tell you what you're supposed to glean from their lyrics.
Sure, they put out minimalistic explanations like "Jars" being solely based on environmentalism and "Clones" being a critical impersonation, but these songs mean so much more than those things.
Each track is an enigma, worded poetically and carefully in order to let the song take the listener where it will (or, perhaps more importantly, vice versa). -
