Coheed And Cambria: Delirium Trigger Meaning
Delirium Trigger Lyrics
systems malfunction blast it this damn machine over and out captain
something lurks creeps on the counter top somewhere behind you
parasitic cyst i can't stand to watch it's...
-
Watch the movie Alien.... then listen to the song again.... done.
-
we're now up here alone
terror on the intercom
*Psychological trauma inflicted to cause disconnection*
can someone save us
*Natural human reaction*
systems malfunction blast it this damn machine over and out captain
*Center lost, sense and reason abandoned*
something lurks creeps on the counter top somewhere behind you
*dark desires being brought forward*
parasitic cyst i can't stand to watch
*the conscience, bound, still fights*
it's coming up and out of your chest
*projection*
Still working on the rest... -
It definitely begins when Coheed and Cambria are on the ship heading towards Earth and the ship is going haywire-Coheed, Cambria and a mechanic try to fix the core of the ship. The parts in the kitchen refer to the priest attacking Claudio in his house, while Josephine lies dead on the floor. He revives her for a moment and asks "Remember when we were young". The photograph on the table, I believe, is of Cambria feeding a young Claudio. And the part 'Come know me in a different light; come know me as God' is definitely Wilhelm Ryan or Mayo Deftinwolf, although it is more likely to be Ryan.

i disagree. Like most of coheed's songs, the narration alters between characters which is heralded by the shift in tone of voice and style. for instance, remember when we were young? lyric is cambria while previously its told from a soldier on the ship. But pretty much coheed goes crazy and is tried to be comforted by cambria. Memories are recalled "a photograph of Earth bringing my way back." I'm unsure if its coheed or cambria recalling the memories of most likely the Dr. who created them-"Sit up right on the [operating] table." "When we were outnumbered and torn...they made us do things to you." Refers to the doctors death, but it could refer to the fact that coheed was given the monstar virus. There is som much more to this song so i just hit the high points.

Coheed and Cambria are now on the E-Ven transport heading towards Earth. Coheed wakes up during the trip and starts going crazy tearing apart the ship. He basically has all of this power flowing through him, but he’s in such a miserable state right now. He continues tearing apart the ship with this “Godly” power and just wants this entire situation that’s happened tonight to end.
This is all told from one of the pilot's point of view.
