Coheed And Cambria: Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial) Meaning
Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial) Lyrics
My body's cold and it thinks I'm already gone
Or is it in the way your body moves
I'd like to tell you
But I think that you already know
The words I drag out from your mouth speak
So...

Thank you, and you are right Claudio is not the writing writer, and Erica court isn't the same as ambellina either.. 10 speed is telling the writing writer to kill ambellina in the story, this is not about Erica, listen to always and never ad welcome home, these are both dreams the writing writer is having of Erica.. He then wakes up and has this conversation with 10 speed.. And he doesn't write himself into the story, he goes through the willing well.. The willing well is pretty much like an alternate universe portal. Apollo (the writer's dog) lives in both sides of reality. He is also Claudio's dog in the story side (junesong provision says dear newo ikkin hows Apollo been treating you, has he been a good boy since the day I left, from SSTB) Ten Speed (the manifestation of a bike in the Writer's psyche) tells him he must kill Ambellina in the story (who relates to Erica Court, his hated ex-lover) as a counter ego in the story. Notice I say relates, because as I said earlier they live in 2 totally separate universes and are 2 Seperate people..

The Writing Writer, who has no relation to Claudio Kilgannon, walks out of his house, in a depressed stupor, because the love of his life, Miss Erica Court, had betrayed and left him. After walking out of his house, he realizes that his 10 speed bicycle is missing, and he blames it on children. He walks to find his bicycle, and he runs into his 10 speed bicycle as the classic "devil on his shoulder", and informs him that if he does not kill off Ambellina, the Prise that Claudio Killgannon had fallen in love with, then Claudio would never realize his full potential as "The Crowing." After the argument that they have, The Writing Writer realizes what he must do and kill off Ambellina, which in turn pushes the Writing Writer into Heavens Fence, where Claudio then kills off the writing writer. Irony about this whole thing, is that the world of Heavens Fence was never real, even through all of the Amory Wars, it was all from the mind of the Writing Writer, but once The Writer killed Ambellina, and he got pushed into Heavens Fence from the Guillotine, it then made all of the Amory Wars real. Also, on a sort of ironic side note, Claudio Sanchez, not Killgannon, also made a character named after his ex-girlfriend from High School, named Nikki Owen, or in SSTB, Newo Ikken. Claudio Sanchez, unlike the writing writer, doesn't kill off Newo Ikken lol

this is about the writer argueing with his subconscious (a ten speed bicycle) who is telling him to kill off the character who he loves (Ambellina) as she is based on ms erica court (the girl who cheated on him and broke his heart) and also because it will convince claudio to step up and accept his role as the crowing

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

The song is about Claudio (The Writer) having hallucinations of his Ten Speed bike telling him to kill off Ambellina. The way I've understood the story, for The Writer, Ambellina represents everything good in Erica Court, and Newo Ikkin represents all of her faults. The Writer has Claudio fall in love with the good, and Ten Speed tells him to kill Ambellina and says it's the only plausible way to make Claudio realize his power as The Crowing.
-
Right! The song is about THE WRITER (not Claudio like most seem to suggest). The Writer has an contriversial argument with his subconcious (Ten Speed) about killing off Ambellina (i believe). The reason is because The Writer writes Claudio to represent himself (he later writes himself into the story to keep it alive after THE WRITER dies in the "Real World"), therefore he feels a relation to Claudio...

Actually not all their songs are about the husband and wife duo of Co&Ca. In fact the two of them die right after Coheed turns into the Monstar and chokes one of the seven stars severing one of the 12 sectors and Cambria turns into the White Ruineer and cools the virus in Coheed's heart, killing him, then kills herself.
Back to the interpretation, as said above, the possesed bicycle, which could be the embodiment of all evil comes and talks to the writer.
I think that the fact that a bicycle comes and TALKS to the writer shows that the anger the writer harbours to Erica is affecting the mental state of the writer, and thus the keywork. Thoughts anyone? -

It's important to note that the vindictive side of the writer (10speed) wants him to kill Ambelina not just out of anger towards Erica Court but also because it is necessary to convince Claudio that he is the Crowing so that he can destroy the keywork, thereby liberating it from the tyranny of the tri-mage and his hack Mayo Dettinwolf.
-
The song is about an hallucination of a possessed bicycle that visits the writing writer (A.K.A. fictional Claudio)(not to be confused with fictional Claudio the Crowing)and tells him to kill off the character Ambilena, because she was the fictional version of Ms Erica Court, the Writers love that cheated on him, and the character only reminded the writer of his pain.
-
This song is about a possessed bicycle that apparently speaks to "The Writer" (which I believe is Claudio) about killing somebody (which I think is Ms. Erica Court). In this case the "voice" is telling him that he must kill her, but he is argueing. The voice could also be his subconcious mind and he could be arguing with himself. All in all - It's a great song!
