This song is about a rough breakup. The guy was clearly in the wrong on this one, and he realizes that. He thought she was crazy for leaving him. Then he realizes how much pain he's caused and that she'd be crazy to stay. The part where Daughtry sings, "I'm so far gone, found my way back to broken somehow," implies that he was so far in the wrong that digressing back to simply being broken was a mark of progress.
