Evanescence: Snow White Queen Meaning

Album cover for Snow White Queen album cover

Snow White Queen Lyrics

Stoplight, lock the door.
Don't look back.
Undress in the dark,
And hide from you,
All of you.

You'll never know the way your words have haunted me.
I can't believe you'd ask these things of me.
You don't own me, now or ever

You...

Well I don't care what amy lee said (no offense) and I have my own interpretation:

    -

    "stoplight, lock the door.
    Don't look back.
    Undress in the dark,
    and hide from you,
    all of you."

is the father talking to his daughter. He orders her to do things and she does them, because she's so unhappy she doesn't really care.

"you'll never know the way your words have haunted me.
I can't believe you'd ask these things of me.
    You don't know me."

now the daughter is talking. She says he rules her life, but she doesn't know her. She says he doesn't love her.

    "you belong to me,
    my snow white queen.
There's nowhere to run, so let's just get it over.
    Soon I know you'll see,
    you're just like me.
Don't scream anymore my love, 'cause all I want is you."

he says she is his, is true, but he does love her, no matter what she thinks.

    "all your hands on me."
it's a metaphor, she says he only wants her to do things

"I can't escape the twisted way you think of me."
in the past, he asked her to do something horrible, and she did it. That was when she learned her father was evil.

    "I can't save your life,
though nothing I bleed for is more tormenting."

she can't help it but loves him though he's evil. He's her father after all, and she wants to save his soul before it's too late. She wants to save him from his own evilness. She can't.

"i'm losing my mind and you just stand there and stare as my world divides."

she tried so hard to change him that she's losing her mind. She hopes her father can save her, but he does nothing.

Then she understands. That's just what he wants: he wants her to hate the world. He wants her to be evil. She wants to satisfy her father.

    She becomes evil.

    The end.

    -

god, that was long. I shuld make a story about it, what do you think?

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I agree with the interpretations above, i'd just like to mention that I believe it to be from two points of view. Like I think the first two lines I believe are from her along with the second verse.

I think that the stalker one is very accurate. But when me and my friends first heard it we thought it was about child abuse.
Ah well it's still a great song no matter what it means!!!
    Keep smiling

Well I know it's about a stalker but I can also see hints of maybe a lover who is being very over possessive over her. For example the line "all your hands on me" seem to suggest that this man already has her under his control, a very powerful man who is so strong that it feels like he has more than two hands to hold her down with.

This was a really good interpretation! Could you add the rest of the lyrics? Thanks in advance.
