Evanescence: The Last Song I'm Wasting On You Meaning
The Last Song I'm Wasting On You Lyrics
They're my own veins
Any more than a whisper
Any sudden movement of my heart
And I know, I know
I'll have to watch them pass away
Just get through this day
Give up your way
You could be anything
Give up my way, and lose...

This song, to me, speaks of abuse and killing yourself to escape. In the beginning she may have meant that the "sparkling grey" is a blade. Having attempted suicide once myself, I know how terrified you are. To know that soon you won't exist, it hurts. Any slight shift of feelings, or "sudden movement of my heart", can shake you back into your self-preservation instinct, and you continue to feel the emotional/mental torment until you break again. Then she's reminiscing about the relationship and how the abused her, whether physical, mental to emotional. Maybe he's literally outside trying to get a response, maybe its just a 'ghost' teoling the she shouldn't do this, but the ghost takes his form. But she stays strong, determination never wavering, so she's able to 'find the way out' of the continual disappointment of life.

I'm positive that Amy Lee (lead vocalist) wrote this song about Ben Moody, who formed the band with Amy. He and Amy didn't get along when it came to song writing, though I'm not sure if anything else as well. He ended up abusing her emotionally, hence "You held me down and screamed you wanted me to die." He left the band because of their differences. I believe the ending of the song is saying that she has moved on from Ben, that she is recovered.

It's a kind of beak-up song where the girl feels this is the ending of her relationship with him and she will not feel this pain anymore.
She talks about the suffering that is comes from his fake proposal while in reality all he can give is - the pain...but she never mind this and honestly says that she'll never hurt him anyways.
She admits that all he done to her is painful but she let him do anything that makes him happy.
He always tries to hurt her and cheat on her but now she says that she's can take her decision and will never let him hurt herself. -
I think this song itself is about a girl (Amy Lee)
who wrote about her abuse.
