Songs about Betrayal and Double Crossing

Et tu, Brute? Trust is the strongest bond between humans, and yet it is also the most fragile. Trust the wrong person too far, and you can literally get stabbed in the back. Or put all of your faith in the wrong lover, and they can betray your faith when they dirty deal you. Whenever we're deceived, it stabs especially deep.

These songs are all about people who bet three chips on the wrong number, picked the wrong pony, or trusted the wrong sweet face. Most of them are now singing the blues, perhaps poorer but certainly wiser. In between you might find the occasional song with the villain gloating over the sham they're about to pull or just pulled.
