Fall Out Boy: Centuries Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Centuries Lyrics
Some turn to dust or to gold
But you will remember me
Remember me for centuries
And just one mistake
Is all it will take.
We'll go down in history
Remember me for centuries
Remember me for centuries

I'm not Christan but I think it is about Jesus. He is rembrered though out history. "You're a cherry blossom you're about to bloom, look so pretty but you're gone so soon" I think that's humans in gods eye, or "we are the poisoned youth" this generation is not as Christan as before. Or he says that he will die for you. There part where he says its not true is how the media is talking about the bible. I don't know for sure but it is just my guess, and sorry if I somehow offended somebody.

In the American Beauty/ American psycho tour Pete said it was about saving the planet and stopping global warming and climate change,
where the song says:
"And just one mistake is all it will take"
is like saying an oil spill could wipe out a whole eco system. it is one mistake and it kills a lot of the environment.
I am just going off what Pete said. -
I haven't seen the music video but the vid and the actual song lyrics don't necessarily coincide. This song seems to be about rape. Bruises on your thighs like my finger prints? At first it sounds like some great song about being awesome but the allusions throughout the song seem to be symbolism for rape. You'll remember him "for centuries". Or until you die for him. Mummified teenage dreams. Etc.

The angel is Lucifer
-
...the song is about the truth! We have been lied to. Not only have we been taught to hate what we don't know; we've fallen away from the light. The duality that all beings in this world share. Our shunned gift of knowledge and opportunity to be AS GOD.
"And here's the frozen fruit"
The tree of life in the tree of knowledge complete I would duality!!!

..in other words this song describes the truth and misconception of Lucifer... i

First of all... the gifts that were given to the band members at the beginning of the "Centuries" music video are a metaphor.
Did you notice the lyrics "and here's the "Frozen Fruit". What gift was given to us humans that God did not want us to have?
Second of all... Did you notice how the religious characters are portrayed during the music video.
Looks Like Some Further Studying Is Needed From All Of You!!

Definitely illuminati

The song is about being remembered. Simply. Whether you're remembered for good deeds or bad deeds, you're going to be remembered. Perhaps you're more remembered for those bad things "and just one mistake is all it will take" for us to "go down in history", for you to "remember me for centuries".

No guys, it's about La cross.

Isn't it obvious? Fall out Boy wants to be heard. After years of silence, he is back strong. But this song says why, and is redefining the story. He is also referring to the fact that, even if he is silenced, his songs will be heard. But he is also referencing his hard beginnings. The chorus is about his band lasting throughout the ages as legend.

I definitely think that the has to do with David and Goliath and the guy in the hood is probably God
-
Surel one boy is David in the story.
Could the other 3 boys represent the Holy Trinity? Father, Son, Spirit.... -
The video showed me very clearly an interpretation of David and Goliath... and the hooded man is either Jesus or God giving the boys materials to bring down Goliath. Although the actual story had one boy there are four, which all combine the stuff God gave them to defeat Goliath, which probably is an intetpretation of how working togethet as a team, you can overcome anything. And all of the other false gods under the boot of God. So yeah thats what i think.
