Fall Out Boy: Centuries Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Centuries Lyrics
Some turn to dust or to gold
But you will remember me
Remember me for centuries
And just one mistake
Is all it will take.
We'll go down in history
Remember me for centuries
Remember me for centuries

I think it's about hockey.

The way it says "just one mistake is all it will take" makes me think this song is about people that are remembered for their misdeeds. Such as killers, who going on shooting sprees, and are remembered for decades. (i.e. the columbine shooters) This conclusion may be stemming from the fact that I have recently been researching the columbine massacre, but it seems eerily related to the incident and others like it. Besides, it seems a lot of mainstream music tends to have dark unlying meanings.

My take is that he's talking about being someone's first and he's kind of ego tripping on it while being indifferent to her needs. Love her and leave her type guy...

Hey I'm Frosty.
Of course we all get the lyrics meaning. It's about leaving a legacy to be remembered through history (that's obvious).
They also brought some meaning with the video. You can always overcome your obstacles (no matter how big they are). Also when it comes to people vs. government, people prevale. And the last message they tried to send near the very end of the video is that God (Jehovah, Buddah, YHWH, whatever you call him) will protect you.

The music video has a David and Goliath inspiring story. The story of David happened thousands of years ago, and it is still very well know to this day. David took down a giant, he ended a war.
But that's just what i think. -
I think this song is encouraging people who have potential to make a mark on their lives by using their talent. Just a thought.

I think it's about legacies and how in the end people remember you for your deeds and personality, not your wealth.
