I opened it to find death staring in my face
The feel of mortal stalking still reverbarrates,
Everywhere I go I drag this coffin,
Just incase

#1 top rated interpretation:"We named it that because it was basically me, talking to myself. It’s me, looking in the mirror, saying, “I am my own worst energy. I do the worst damage to myself— more than anybody else can to do me.” It’s obviously from my past experiences." - Ronnie Radke

#2 top rated interpretation:I understand that everyone has their own view on songs, but mine is quite different from what I've read. I feel like this song though could mean and actually does mean screwing up in life for me it means love is a weakness.

#3 top rated interpretation:Well I think this song could mean a lot of things. In the beginning " I heard a knock upon my door the other day i opened it to find death staring In my face. Personally I think this means how he got set up by max green. Max green set Ronnie radke up. By a calling him about drugs. Ronnie not knowing the cops where listening in was down for drugs. And wanted to get some. So the comes came knocking.at his door arresting him. And sending him to jail. And the thought of going to jail was probably making him feel like his life was over. And the part "I wrestle with my thoughts I shook the hand of doubt". He doesn't want to believe what is happening. Or what has happened. He doesn't want to believe his friend betrayed him. He tried to deny it. But he couldn't. Also the lyrics "running fin my past I'm preying feet don't fail be now" is most likely referring to not wanting to go down the same road again. He doesn't want to be involved in his old band. And maybe he is trying to put drugs in his past. And hopes he will never have to go threw any of this again. "Trying to consume the drug in me is you and I'm so high on misery " I think he could possibly mean the drug in him might be him. Or even max or band members of escape the fate. I think what he is trying to say is the worst drug is himself. He made mistakes in his life. And he is unhappy with his decisions perhaps. Or who know maybe its about how he loved max green. Whom was like a little brother to ronnie radke. And he is breaking his addiction and trying to get over the pain he has caused. And it makes him miserable thinking about what drugs and formar band did to him. They made him crazy. And lose his mind.?!
-
I think it means that he really wants to run away from all his addicts, like drugs. He doesn't like doing it and he thinks that once he was in jail his whole life would be over and he would never be allowed to get back out. He knows what he has done and all he's trying to do is let people know -- because why not?
-
this song is about his drug addiction. the verse "i drag this coffin just in case" is him saying that any moment could be his last and h is perpared.... how i feel
-
The whole album is reflecting on his past. When he was in jail, Ronnie was writing these songs after waking up and realizing that it was time he changed. He saw death staring in his face.
-
Well the first verse of the song is about Ronnie realizing everything he was doing like the drugs and habits he had were wrong and it means that everywhere he goes he dragging those burdens with him.
-I heard him say it in an interview. -
This is a very obvious song. If you you think about it he explains how he screwed up in life and how he wants to get away from all of the drugs and cheating. Their is even interviews Of him saying this. "I pray feet don't fail me now" just means what I said^^. Also the "drug in me is you" is us the fans. Hes saying you guys are now my new high and I want you. It's hard to explain but it's just a sony telling his fans that he's straight edge now and he's going to fix up his bad past.
