Foo Fighters: Aurora Meaning
Aurora Lyrics
To relieve your emptiness
And you dream about yourself
And you bleed and breathe the air
And it's on and on and on and on
I just kinda died for you
You just kinda stared at me
We will always have the...

Aurora Avenue, N. Seattle is synonymous with prostitution. “You believe there’s something else, to relieve your emptiness”
and “you believe there’s somewhere else, where it’s easier than this”. Maybe Aurora’s a song of hope for the ladies who “turn and come back down” -
Just a beautiful song!!! Makes me feel sad, happy, love, and makes me remember everything! The End. Thank you Mr. Grohl

Think of a man.. Lonely.. Suddenly starts liking a woman.. Think how he thinks of her grace and her as the love of his life..Lost in love but unwilling to tell her about it worrying that confession may lead to breaking apart! So he starts dreaming whole night whole day, imagining the pictures of how their relationship can speak up, can be turned towards the future, and finding a way out by hallucinations. Although, he knows he can not be fully sure of getting the same love in return from her. Well! That's how I imagined it when I fell for a woman I thought I ll never be with! And these lines fit well in my heart for the next few weeks until I proposed her and got a kiss in return!!

I think Dave may be talking about a place called Aurora and remembering a good time he had there with Kurt. "You believed in something else to relieve your emptiness" reminds me of Kurt's death as it did my little brother's. "I just kinda died for you" may relate to a distancing in their brotherhood, maybe when Kurt met Courtney. As far a "we can spin the sun around and the stars out will all come out" has me feel about be reunited with my little brother one day in the afterlife, maybe this is what Dave means as well.
Well that's what this song means to me anyway. -
I think that Aurora is about a mans friendship with a woman, and this man wants the relationship to mean something more. I also get the impression that his feelings are not reciprocated from the line "I just kinda died for you.You just kinda stared at me" The words "died for you" give the idea of confessing his love.
I think it also shows how he feels this realtionship could be something wonderful if she only gave him the chance. I get this from the chorus, "Take me now, we can spin the sun around. And the stars will all come out. Then we'll turn and come back down. Turn and come back down."
Finally the woman in the relationship herself is looking for "something else".To relieve her emptiness. This could be interpreted into a number of things.
Love that she can't find.
Something more meaningfull to life etc...
Anyway thats just my personal view on an absolutely beautiful song. I could be totally wrong but i hope i've at least done it justice
