These Days Lyrics
One of these days your heart will stop and play its final beat
One of these days the clocks will stop and time won't mean a thing
One of these days their bombs will drop and...

#1 top rated interpretation:to the guy who said its about Daves frustration with people pirating his music...its NOT....the Lyrics is "i bet your pride has never been stolen". not Product.
I agree its one of the best FF albums to exist.
but this song is more like the people who tell you to suck it up and move on from a hard relationship break up...thats easy for them to say, cause they havent felt a pain like this.
that is MY interpretation -
2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:I think is about losing someone really close like a parent. I watched my dad take his last breath, heard his last heart beat, watched the clock stop for that one moment. If you've never done it, yeah “It's easy for you to say”, It's alright!! With a parent, a lot of us as we age end up being there till the end and watching them die. “So one of these days”… you may be in those shoes, because death of a loved one is enviable.

#3 top rated interpretation:If you stop looking so deep into the song, its simple. Its about getting hurt by someone and telling them " Its alright because one of these days it'll happen to you". Im also pretty sure every song Dave writes isnt about Kurt.
Fun song to sing and play. Enjoy it guys -
I believe the song is about a father looking at his infant child thinking of all the perils and heart break that she is going to face her in life. Its a snapshot of his anxiety of the inevitable to come but and just worrying about it.

I think it is about someone's love of their life that broke their heart

I get up and I do my best to be a good person. I am an EMT and listen to these lyrics and think about the lives that I come across and the heartbreak of some situations that are dealt to people. Live life and dont give a shit about that a.hole that cuts you down. Life ends when your heart stops beating.

One of these days your existance will be tested for it to not be questioned may be easy.everything will stop and cease to exsist and by then it will be ok. but its not as easy it sounds. you think without the remorse of others and thus persives your deaths. One of these days you shall understand.

My Mother recently passed away at age 73(Heart failure) for me the song is about her
and I now break down every time I hear the song.
Rest in peace BJB! -
It definetly is about a loss of a dear one, and the underestimation of the fact. "Easy for you to say".
-
Its is about any type of hurt love , pride , and that one day you will go through the same hurt you will feel what I have felt don't tell me it's alright
-
He recently dedicated it to Kurt and Krist at the Foo Fighters last concert for a while.

My sister had two open heart surgeries last year,(age of 39) the second causing a severe left side stroke- to me, this is my song for that time-(I heard this and Walk at this moment in time-) makes me cry every time. Walk- we call it Stacy's song, as she had to learn to walk again, among other things-
So I think These Days must be about losing someone. It is very symbolic to our family!
Thank you Dave and band for giving this to us at that exact time! -
This song is about someone trying to come to terms with the loss of a friend/family member.
His friends/people tell him that ‘it’s alright’ and things will get better, but they can’t say that unless they have been through what he has been through before & maybe one day this will happen to them, and then they can try saying that everything will be alright -
I think it's about the loss of life of someone close and dear to his heart. Might be about Kurt. When I listen to it, it reminds me of my son who was killed almost 2 years ago. Either way it's about real true heartache and you will never understand it until you have experienced it first hand.

He is telling the girl that broke his heart that one day she will feel the same pain he feels now. He tells her she has never felt this kind of heartache and no one has ever hurt her pride this way. He tells her that one day she will feel it too and know how he is suffering "One day" "i bet"

I have been reading different sites to see what ppl were thinking when they were listening and absorbing. It may be age, Nirvana was my generation..Not one person mentioned Kurt Cobain, he was very instrumental in Dave's life. Hence 'anonymous' saying the this song was about a former band member.
-
I went to a foo concert last month and he commented this song is written with a former band member in mind....
