Doll Lyrics

You know in all of the time(s) that we shared

I've never been so scared

I think the song is about being with someone and realizing the love is dying but they are still fighting to stay together. But maybe that is why the song is so great, it means something different depending on where you are at.

I think people are trying to get a super complex and deep meaning. It's probably something simple and i highly doubt this song is about Kurt Cobain - he wasn't the only person in Dave Grohl's life nor was he the only one that he's known with personal struggles.

To me, it almost sounds like a song about marriage (maybe?). Maybe thats just me, but the lyrics say how they have never been so scared all the time they've been together, which happens to everyone who's about to get married. "Doll me up in my bad luck" - maybe saying that their partner is willing to accept him for who he is and then "meet me at the end" like at the end of the wedding aisle.

It's just a recollection, and a rethinking of, the past that someone's had with someone else. The past that haunts and informs, sends shivers down the spine while it creates the future.
