It's a song about KISS. The clues are in the song and in the video. Kiss all wore "mud" on their faces (the make-up), blood on their face (Gene spit blood onstage), and they made a big noise. In their video, Mercury wears glasses with star shapes (a Paul Stanley reference) while Brian May shows off the large rubber boots he's wearing, a reference to the huge rubber boots Gene Simmons wore onstage. Mercury even point at May's rubber boot in the video, as though they're trying to make a point about something. So to be clear, Queen is not singing about how they will rock you, they are singing about ANOTHER band that sings about how they rock (and roll all night). The title of "We Will Rock You" refers to the Kiss hit "Rock And Roll All Nite" which Mercury hated and publicly complained as being too arrogant and boastful.

I think this was a response to the punk movement at the time. Queen never criticized other types of music but punks didn't like queen's glam rock style. In this song, Queen responds and calls out the punks and lets them know that Queen will rock them and the punks will end as they began on the street.

Freddy Mercury( the main singer in the band) in the band, Queen, woke up one morning with a stomp-stomp-clap beat in his head. He later wrote some depressing lyrics that describes a worthless man that had a dream and didn't fulfill it. In the lyrics, it begins with a young teen that has a dream of achieving an amazing life when he is older. In the second stanza the teen is now a man, a more responsible and mature man, who is battling to reach his goal. Then the song ends with an old mans dream being unfulfilled.

I think almost everyone is right in what they think this song means to them. Me I believe. It means growing up with out a silver spoon and making it the big time. But yet your still not on top because of people who make it with a gimmick for people to pay attention to them. So what im trying to say is do it on your own and stay who you are or if not go back where you came from.

We Will Rock You is about Freddie Mercury (The Lead singer of Queen) 's Love for rocks. He had a rock collection. He named the first rock Buddy. That's where he got the words 'Buddy your a boy make a big noise shouting in the street gonna take on the world some day' And his other rock was called, You got mud on your face. He hated that rock. That's why he said you got mud on your face you big disgrace. Also, he had constipation. He took some laxatives but then his rocks ran away.

I HEARD in an interview it was written as a "Gay Liberation song" which would make sense in some ways when you read the lyrics. I remember seeing an interview with either Brian May or Roger Taylor(I don't remember who though).

It's a gay anthem about the Stonewall Riots where a few gay bars were invaded by police and the people there wouldn't just sit back and take it, so they threw rocks at the police, "we will rock you"

If people could understand the meaning of this song in an instant, than it wouldnt be a song. This song being written by a band called QUEEN and sung by a man named freddie mercury, who was a gay man, is inevitably about gay pride. gay activism was becoming very prevalent at this time in history, after the Stone wall riots in the late 60's, many artist and people such as mercury and harvey milk were looking for ways to have the ethic of the gay individuals rights spoken for...
